HomeMy Public PortalAbout00642 O R D I N A N C E NO. 642 AN ORDINANCE to extend the boundaries of The Metro- politan St. Louis Sewer District to include an area of St. Louis County which could be efficiently served by the sewer and drainage facilities to be built by the District. WHEREAS, petitions to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District have been received from the majority of the owners of the land in said area who own more than one-half of the land area therein; and WHEREAS, this area adjoins and is entirely in a watershed of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, and can drain all of its sanitary sewage into sewers to be built within the District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. That the Board finds that the sewer facilities to be built by the District can efficiently serve the area described as follows: Beginning at a point in the boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District as established by said District's Ordinance No. 418, said point being at the intersection of the centerline of Old Halls Ferry Road, sixty feet (60 feet) wide, with the prolongation westwardly of the northern line of Lot 10 of the Subdivision of the Lydia Musick Estate, a subdivision according to plat thereof recorded in Deed Book 478, page 371 of the St. Louis City (former County) 2 Recorder's Office; thence eastwardly along said north line of Lot 10, being also the north line of property as acquired by the Postal Employees Country Club by deed recorded in Book 1565, page 9, St. Louis County Recorder's Office, and continuing eastwardly along the northern lines of properties acquired by Merrill C. Williams (by deed recorded in Book 2772, page 384, St. Louis County records) and St. Paul's Evangelical Church (by deed recorded in Book 4467, page 341, St. Louis County Records) for a total of approximately 2,100 feet to an angle point between the north and west lines of said St. Paul's Evangelical Church property, and being also the southeast corner of a 7.00 acre tract conveyed to Carl Fricke by deed recorded in Deed Book 534, page 129 of the St. Louis City (former County) records; thence northwardly three hundred feet (300 feet) more or less along said west line of said St. Paul's Evangelical Church property to the northwest corner thereof; thence eastwardly three hundred thirty feet (330) more or less along the north line of said St. Paul's Evangelical Church property to its northeast corner in the east line of U. S. Survey No. 104; thence northwardly along said east line of U. S. Survey No. 104, approximately seventeen hundred feet (1,700 feet) to its intersection with the centerline of Missouri State Highway No. 140, sixty feet (60 feet) wide; thence northeastwardly and eastwardly along the centerline of said Highway No. 140 approximately six 3 thousand six hundred feet (6,600 feet) to its intersection with the centerline of Old Jamestown Road, forty feet (40 feet) wide; thence southwardly along said centerline of Old Jamestown Road approximately six thousand three hundred feet (6,300 feet) to the southwest corner of the Joseph L. Chambers Tract as shown on plat of "Jane Chambers Subdivision on Coldwater Creek," according to plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 3, page 44, St. Louis County Recorder's office, thence eastwardly along the south line of said Joseph L. Chambers Tract approximately one thousand three hundred thirty-two feet (1,332 feet) to a point in the west line of U. S. Survey No. 2771, being the northeast corner of property conveyed to the Jamestown Development Corporation by deed recorded in Book 3621, page 590, St. Louis County Recorder's Office; thence southwardly along the east line of said Jamestown Development Corporation property two thousand nine hundred twenty-eight feet (2,928 feet) more or less to the most southern corner thereof; thence northwestwardly along the southwestern line of said Jamestown Development Corporation and its straight continuation northwestwardly along the southwestern line of property conveyed to Esther V. Alt by deed recorded in Deed Book 2480, page 638, St. Louis County Recorder's Office, a total distance of two thousand five Hundred fifty-two and forty-four one hundredths feet (2,552.44 feet) more or less to the most western corner of 4 said Alt property in the centerline of Old Jamestown Road, forty feet (40 feet) wide; thence southwestwardly along the centerline of said road, approximately one thousand feet (1,000 feet) to its intersection with the east and west centerline of Section 19, Township 47 North, Range 7 East, thence westwardly along said centerline of Section 19, being also the south line of property conveyed to Harold N. Scharr and wife by deed recorded in Book 2744, Page 399, St. Louis County Recorder's Office, nine hundred eighteen and eighteen one-hundredths feet (918.18 feet) more or less, to the northeast corner of property conveyed to the Paul E. Kummer Realty Co. by deed recorded in Book 3538, page 247, St. Louis County Recorder's Office; thence southwardly along the east line of said Kummer property one thousand three hundred forty-two feet (1,342 feet) to its southeastern corner; thence westwardly along the south line of said Kummer property, and its western prolongation, one thousand one hun- dred forty-nine and twenty-two one-hundredths feet (1,149.22 feet) more or less to a point in the centerline of Old Halls Ferry Road, sixty feet (60 feet) wide; thence northwestwardly along said road centerline approximately one thousand five hundred sixty-seven feet (1,567 feet) to its intersection with the east and west centerline of Section 19, Township 47 North, Range 7 East, said point of intersection being the southeast corner of property conveyed to Grace Randazzo by 5 deed recorded in Book 2064, page 461, St. Louis County Recorder's Office; thence westwardly along said Section centerline one thousand seven hundred eight and eight one hundredths feet (1,708.08 feet) to the southwest corner of said Randazzo property, being also in the eastern boundary of the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District as established by Ordinance No. 418 thereof; thence northwardly approximately two thousand seven hundred feet (2,700 feet) along said eastern boundary to the centerline of Old Halls Ferry Road, sixty feet (60 feet) wide; thence northwestwardly and northwardly approximately one thousand six hundred feet (1,600 feet) along said road centerline, being also the boundary of said District by Ordinance No. 418, to the place of beginning. Section Two. That the petitions praying for annexation were signed by the majority of the owners of the land in said area who own more than one-half of the land area of the area to be served. Section Three. The corporate boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District are hereby extended so as to include the above-described area. Section Four. Certified copies of this Ordinance shall be filed in the offices of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis County, the Recorder of Deeds of the City of St. Louis, and the Secretary of State. 6 The foregoing Ordinance was adopted October 19, 1961.
