HomeMy Public PortalAbout00672 O R D I N A N C E NO. 672 AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 109 adopted January 14, 1957, by repealing Section Twenty thereof and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as Section Twenty of Ordinance No. 109, and containing an emergency clause. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. Ordinance No. 109, as adopted January 14, 1957, is hereby amended by repealing Section Twenty thereof and enacting a new section in lieu thereof to be known as Section Twenty of Ordinance No. 109 to read as follows: "Section Twenty. All measurements, tests and analyses of the characteristics of waters and wastes to which reference is made in Sections Fourteen and Seventeen shall be determined in accordance with the 11th Edition of Standard Methods for the Examination of Water, Sewage and Industrial Wastes published jointly by the American Public Health Association, The American Water Works Association and the Federation of Sewerage and Industrial wastes Association. Additional methods of making measurements, tests or analyses of the characteristics of waters or wastes may be provided by the Executive Director with the approval of the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District when in the opinion of the Executive Director they are necessary. All measurements, tests or analyses provided for in this Section shall be determined at the control manhole provided for in Section Nineteen, or upon suitable samples taken at said control manhole. In the event that no special manhole has been required, the control manhole shall be considered to be the nearest downstream manhole in the public sewer to be the nearest downstream manhole in the public sewer to the point at which the building or industrial the point at which the building or industrial connection sewer is connected." Section Two. The necessity for establishing revised regulatory standards for the protection of the public health within the District constitutes an emergency within the meaning of the Plan of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
