HomeMy Public PortalAbout00683 O R D I N A N C E NO. 683 AN ORDINANCE to extend the boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to include an area of St. Louis County which could be efficiently served by the sewer and drainage facilities of the District. WHEREAS, petitions to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District has been received from the majority of the owners of the land in said area who also own more than one half of the land area therein; and WHEREAS, this area adjoins and is primarily in a watershed within The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, and can drain all of its sanitary sewage into sewers within the District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. That the Board finds that the sewer facilities of the District can efficiently serve the area described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the northwestwardly prolongation of the northeast line now or formerly of John A. Wolf and Dorothy Wolf, his wife, with the centerline of Telegraph Road eighty (80) feet wide, which point is also forty- five (45) feet more or less northeastwardly from the intersection of the southwest line of Block 135 of Carondelet Commons South of the River des Peres with the said centerline of Telegraph Road, which point is also a point on the existing boundary of The 2 Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; thence South 54 degrees 32 minutes East along aforesaid extension and northeast line of Wolf, a distance of 264.83 feet more or less to the eastern corner thereof; thence South 35 degrees 28 minutes West 44.11 feet to the intersection with the southwest line of said Block 135; thence southeastwardly along said southwest line of Block 135 and its southeastwardly prolongation to its intersection with the northwestern line of Jefferson Barracks; thence northeastwardly along said northwestern line of Jefferson Barracks to its intersection with the southeastwardly prolongation of the northeast line of Lot 5 of aforesaid Block 135; thence northwestwardly along said prolongation and said northeast line of Lot 5 a distance of 465.60 feet to a point; thence southwestwardly along a line parallel with aforesaid northwest boundary of Jefferson Barracks, a distance of 235.85 feet to its intersection with the northeastern line of Lot 6 of aforesaid Block 135; thence northwestwardly along the said northeast line of Lot 6, a distance of 105 feet more or less to the East corner of property described in deed to Orville M. Bess and wife recorded in Book 1851, page 416 of the St. Louis County Records; thence South 35 degrees 28 minutes West, a distance of 94 feet more or less to the southern corner of said property of Bess; thence northwestwardly along the southwest line of said property of Bess and along its northwestern prolongation to its intersection with the centerline of Telegraph Road, which line is also parallel with the northeastern line of 3 said Lot 6; thence southwestwardly along the said centerline of Telegraph Road, which is also a part of the existing Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District boundary, to the point of beginning, which is approximately 338 feet. Section Two. That the petition praying for annexation was signed by the majority of the owners of the land in said area who also own more than one half of the land area to be served. Section Three. The corporate boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District are hereby extended so as to include the above-described area. Section Four. Certified copies of this ordinance shall be filed in the offices of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis County, the Recorder of Deeds of the City of St. Louis, and the Secretary of State. 4 The foregoing Ordinance was adopted December 7, 1961.
