AN ORDINANCE, appropriating the sum of One Hundred Nine
Thousand Dollars ($109,000.00) from the unencumbered balance in
the Emergency Fund to be used as may be required as the maximum
contribution of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to a
comprehensive stormwater study of the various watersheds within
the boundaries of the District, pursuant to an agreement entered
into January 29, 1961 between the District and the Division of
Commerce and Industrial Development of the State of Missouri, and
providing for such sum to be deposited in escrow with the State of
Missouri.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 448 the Board of Trustees of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District resolved to appropriate an
amount not to exceed One Hundred Nine Thousand Dollars
($109,000.00) to match an urban planning grant of Two Hundred
Eighteen Thousand Dollars ($218,000.00) under the provisions of
Section 701 of the Housing Act of 1954, as amended, to prepare a
comprehensive stormwater study of the various watersheds within
the boundaries of the District, and
WHEREAS, as a consideration for an agreement for the making
of such study entered into January 29, 1961 by the District and
the Division of Commerce and Industrial Development of the State
of Missouri, the District agreed to pay the sum of One Hundred
Nine Thousand Dollars ($109,000.00) in cash or services to said
agency of the State of Missouri.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of One Hundred Nine Thousand Dollars
($109,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Emergency Fund to be
used for the payment of the District's maximum contribution to the
aforesaid study under the aforesaid agreement.
Section Two. The sum hereby appropriated shall be placed on
deposit in escrow with the Division of Commerce and Industrial
Development of the State of Missouri to meet the commitments for
an Urban Planning Grant of Two Hundred Eighteen Thousand Dollars
($218,000.00) under the provisions of Section 701 of the Housing
Act of 1954 as amended to prepare a comprehensive storm water
study of the various watersheds within the boundaries of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, said project known as
Project Mo-P2.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted March 19, 1962.
