HomeMy Public PortalAbout00748 O R D I N A N C E NO. 748 AN ORDINANCE vacating portions of easements in the City of St. Louis, Missouri. WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis has, by Ordinance No. 16,017, approved March 10, 1891, vacated all unimproved streets and alleys in the district bounded by the north line of Grand Avenue, the north line of Luther Avenue, the east line of Hall Street and the Mississippi River, reserving, however, the area of such streets and alleys for sewer purposes; and WHEREAS, the said owner of subject property has requested this District to vacate a portion of such reserved easements and this District has no need or use for such easements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The following described portions of the sewer easements reserved by Ordinance No. 16,017 of the City of St. Louis, approved March 10, 1891, are hereby vacated, to wit: The areas of the streets and alleys lying within the area described as follows: Ord. No. 748 Beginning at the point of intersection of the northern line of former Prairie Avenue and the western line of former Powder Street; thence westwardly along such northern line of former Prairie Avenue to its intersection with the center line of former Stockton Street; thence northwardly along the center line of former Stockton Street to its intersection with the northern line of former Adelaide Avenue; thence westwardly along said northern line of former Adelaide Avenue to its intersection with the eastern line of Hall Street; thence northwardly along the eastern line of Hall Street to its intersection with the southern line of former Carrie Avenue; thence eastwardly along the southern line of former Carrie Avenue to its intersection with the aforesaid western line of former Powder Street; thence southwardly along said western line of former Powder Street to the point of beginning, excepting therefrom the total area of former Adelaide Avenue. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted May 7, 1962. -2-
