HomeMy Public PortalAbout01125 O R D I N A N C E NO. 1125 AN ORDINANCE, authorizing the Executive Director and the Secretary-Treasurer of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to purchase certain real property in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, to be used as the site of a pumping station of the Mississippi River Subdistrict, prescribing terms, and containing an emergency clause. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The Executive Director and the Secretary- Treasurer of the District are authorized to purchase free of encumbrances at a price not to exceed Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) the following real property owned in fee simple by Illinois Terminal Railroad Company and situated in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, to be used as the site of a pumping station of the Mississippi River Subdistrict. Lot No. 1 and part of Lot No. 2 in block No. 8 of Ann Biddle's Addition and in block No. 563 of the City of St. Louis, beginning at the point of intersection of the North line of Biddle Street and the East line of Twelfth Boulevard, thence Eastwardly along the North line of Biddle Street 49 feet 9-3/4 inches, more or less, to an alley, thence Northwardly along the West line of said alley 30 feet, thence Westwardly at right angles to said alley 13.5 feet, thence Northwardly at right angles 3 feet, thence Westwardly at right angles 36 feet 3 inches more or less, to the East line of Twelfth Boulevard, thence Southwardly along the East line of Twelfth Boulevard 33 feet to point of beginning. Section Two. The Executive Director and the Secretary- Treasurer may make agreements and execute instruments as may be necessary to the exercise of the authority given and upon receipt of a warranty deed conveying to the District the fee simple title to the described realty, free and clear of liens and encumbrances, they may pay the purchase price, or the final installment thereof, as a charge against the Construction Fund of the Mississippi River Subdistrict. Section Three. An emergency exists within the meaning of the Plan, since the realty is needed for the protection of the public health and the purchase must be arranged for without delay. Accordingly, this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted March 12, 1964. -2-
