HomeMy Public PortalAbout01179 O R D I N A N C E NO. 1179 AN ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Executive Director to grant to Union Electric Company a permanent easement and a temporary easement for electric or communication lines and appurtenances across certain property of the District in City Blocks 3224 and 3225 in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, and to execute an instrument giving effect thereto upon the conditions hereinafter set out. WHEREAS, Union Electric Company wishes to cross certain property now of this District with electric lines and appurtenances, primarily for the purpose of serving the pumping stations known as Lemay Pump Station No. 1 and Pump Station No. 2 located in aforesaid City Blocks 3224 and 3225, and the District is desirous of obtaining such service; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District does hereby grant to the Union Electric Company the right to construct, reconstruct, repair and maintain electric or communications lines, or both, and appurtenances, across property owned by the District in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, such property and easement being described as follows: A fifteen (15) foot wide strip of land being part of a tract of land in City Block 3224 and 3225 in the City of St. Louis, State of Missouri; acquired by Ordinance #44483 approved March 31, 1948 and Ordinance #45597 approved February 13, 1951 by 2 the City of St. Louis, Missouri. The centerline of said fifteen (15) foot wide strip of land is further described as beginning at a point in the West line of the twenty (20) foot wide alley East of Michigan Avenue, one hundred eighty-two and five tenths (182.5) feet South of the South line of Espenschied (50' wide) Street; thence in a Westwardly direction and parallel to the South line of Espenschied Street two hundred six (206) feet more or less to a point; thence in a Northwardly direction and parallel to the west line of Michigan Avenue one hundred (100) feet to a point; thence in a Westwardly direction and parallel to the South line of Espenschied Street one hundred fifty one (151) feet more or less to a point in the West line of the twenty (20) foot wide alley (vacated) East of Virginia Avenue (60' wide). Section Two. The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District does hereby grant to the Union Electric Company the temporary right to construct, reconstruct, repair and maintain electric or communications lines, or both, and appurtenances, across property owned by the District in the City of St. Louis, such property and temporary easement being hereinafter described, and such grant of easement shall terminate by the removal of such wires and appurtenances, which removal shall be done by grantee within sixty days after written notice to Union Electric Company by the District. A fifteen (15) foot wide strip of land being part of a tract of land in City Block 3224 in the City of St. Louis, State 3 of Missouri; acquired by Ordinance #44483 approved March 31, 1948 and Ordinance #45597 approved February 13, 1951 in the City of St. Louis, State of Missouri. The centerline of said fifteen (15) foot wide strip of land is further described as beginning at a point in the East line of Virginia Avenue (60' wide) sixty-four (64) feet South of the South line of Espenschied Street fifty (50) feet wide); thence in a Southeastwardly direction to a point in the West line of the twenty (20) foot wide alley (vacated) East of Virginia Avenue (60' wide) seventy-seven (77) feet South of the South line of Espenschied Street (50' wide). Section Three. The Executive Director is hereby authorized and directed to execute in behalf of the District an instrument giving effect to Sections One and Two hereof. 4 The foregoing Ordinance was adopted June 24, 1964.
