HomeMy Public PortalAbout01251 O R D I N A N C E NO. 1251 AN ORDINANCE, to extend the boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to include an area of St. Louis County which could be efficiently served by the sewer and drainage facilities of the District. WHEREAS, a petition to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District has been received from the owner of all the land in said area praying for annexation to The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and the Mississippi River Subdistrict; and WHEREAS, this area adjoins and is in a watershed within The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, and can drain all of its sanitary sewage into sewers within the District, both existing and to be built. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. That the Board finds that the sewer facilities of the District can efficiently serve the area described as follows: Beginning at a point on the common state lines of the State of Illinois and the State of Missouri, said point being at the intersection of said common state lines and a line bearing North 89 degrees 15 minutes East from the southeasterly corner of the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, which point of intersection is also a point on the existing boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; thence westwardly along said line South 89 degrees 15 minutes West to the southeasterly corner of the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, which point is also in the northerly line of the property of the U.S. Veterans Hospital and also a point on the existing boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; thence westwardly along said northerly line of Veterans Hospital property, which is also a part of the existing boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, to its intersection with the centerline of Poore Street; thence continuing westwardly along said northerly line of Veterans Hospital property to the northwestern corner thereof, which point is distant approximately 3,615 feet from the northeastern corner thereof; thence South 12 degrees 49 minutes 40 seconds East along the western boundary of said Veterans Hospital property a distance of 2832.76 feet to the southwestern corner thereof; thence eastwardly along the southern boundary of said Veterans Hospital property and its eastwardly extension, to its intersection with the common state lines of the State of Illinois and State of Missouri; thence northwardly along said common state lines, to the point of beginning. Section Two. That the petition praying for annexation was signed by the property owners of all the land in said area to be served. Section Three. The corporate boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and the Mississippi River Subdistrict are hereby extended so as to include the above- described area; -2- Section Four. Certified copies of this ordinance shall be filed in the offices of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis County, the Recorder of Deeds of the City of St. Louis, and the Secretary of State.
