APPROVED Michael Bawdeli, Mayor ATTEST IA-Q Katie Enloe, Deputy Clerk City of Riverdale, Iowa 110 Manor Drive, Riverdale, Iowa 52722 • (563) 355-2511 • www.riverdaleiowa.com RESOLUTION 2020-56 A RESOLUTION APPROVING STAFF RECOMMENDATION FOR A CONTRACT TO RE -ROOF THE CITY HALL OF RIVERDALE, IOWA WHEREAS, The City of Riverdale, Iowa ("City") is a Municipal Corporation, organized and operating under the laws of the State of Iowa, and; WHEREAS, storm damage caused damage to the roof of the City's town hall and fire station, and; WHEREAS, the City had insured its town hall and fire station against weather damage and other typical hazards, and; WHEREAS, an assessor from the City's insurance provider inspected the damage to the roof and recommend a complete and replacement of both the shingles and the gutters/downspouts, and; WHEREAS, the City's insurance carrier made an initial claims payment to the City during FY 20, and; WHEREAS, the City Council had identified replacement of the roof of the City's town hall and fire station as a major maintenance project for FY 21, budgeting $50,000 for the project, and; WHEREAS, the City's insurance carrier will cover the entire cost of roof and downspout/gutter replacement with the exception of a $1,000 deductible payment to be made by the City; and, WHEREAS, the City's administrator has solicited a number of bids and selected a contractor he feels provided the most comprehensive, well -researched and responsive bid to re -roof Riverdale City Hall (Exhibit "A"). NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERDALE, IOWA, Section 1. That the City Council of Riverdale, Iowa authorizes the Mayor to sign a services contract with HAAN Roofing & Construction, LLC to replace the roof of Riverdale City Hall for a cost of $92,767.00; and Section 2.
