AN ORDINANCE, authorizing the Executive Director and
the Secretary-Treasurer of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District to purchase from the owner thereof, as the site to
construct a lift station plant which is an integral part of the
pollution abatement facilities to serve the Mississippi River
Subdistrict of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, a tract
of land in the City of St. Louis, Missouri described as follows:
A tract or parcel of land in Block 2920, now Block 2921, of
the City of St. Louis, more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a point in the Southwesterly line of Fillmore
Street (36 feet wide) 69.42 feet Southeastwardly from the
intersection of said Southwesterly line with the
Southeasterly line of Broadway (70 feet wide); thence
Southeastwardly, along said Southwesterly line of Fillmore
Street, 55 feet; thence Southwestwardly, by a straight line,
parallel with said Southeasterly line of Broadway, 40 feet;
thence Northwestwardly, by a straight line, parallel with
said Southwesterly line of Fillmore Street, 55 feet; thence
Northeastwardly, by a straight line, 40 feet more or less,
to the point of beginning, containing 2200 square feet, more or
less.
for a total sum of Two Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($2,200.00)
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The Executive Director and the Secretary-
Treasurer of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District shall be
and are hereby authorized and directed to purchase from the owner
thereof, as the site to construct a lift station plant which is an
integral part of the pollution abatement facilities to serve the
Mississippi River Subdistrict of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District, a tract of land in the City of St. Louis, Missouri
described as follows, to wit:
A tract or parcel of land in Block 2920, now Block 2921 of
the City of St. Louis, more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a point in the Southwesterly line of Fillmore
Street (36 feet wide) 69.42 feet Southeastwardly from the
intersection of said Southwesterly line with the

point of beginning, containing 2200 square feet, more or
less.
Section Two. Upon the execution and delivery to them
by the said owner of a quit-claim deed in proper form, being free
from liens and encumbrances, conveying fee simple and insurable
title to the said land to The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District, the Executive Director and the Secretary-Treasurer -2-
shall be and are hereby authorized and directed to pay to the said
owner, for the said land, the total sum of Two Thousand Two
Hundred Dollars ($2,200.00).
The Executive Director and the Secretary-Treasurer are
further authorized to execute any instrument necessary or proper
in the premises.
Section Three. The purchase of this property being a
necessity to properly carry out the functions of this District and
the necessity for acquiring this property immediately for its
program of water pollution abatement and in particular to
construct the lift station plant to serve the Mississippi River
Subdistrict constitutes an emergency within the meaning of the
Plan and this Ordinance shall therefore take effect immediately
upon its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted December 29, 1965.
