AN ORDINANCE to extend the boundaries of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, the Mississippi River
Subdistrict and the Gravois Creek Trunk Subdistrict to include an
area of St. Louis County which could be efficiently served by the
sewer or drainage facilities of the District, the Mississippi
River Subdistrict and the Gravois Creek Trunk Subdistrict.
WHEREAS, a petition to the Board of Trustees of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District has been received from the
majority of the owners of the land in said area who own more than
one-half of the land area therein, praying for annexation to The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, the Mississippi River
Subdistrict, and the Gravois Creek Trunk Subdistrict; and
WHEREAS, this area adjoins The Metropolitan St. Louis
Sewer District, the Mississippi River Subdistrict, and the Gravois
Creek Trunk Subdistrict, and the existing sewers of the District
and Subdistricts are adequate to handle all of its sanitary
sewage, that the interests of sanitation and public health of the
District will be promoted by including the area in its territory;
and that the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has
no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than
those of the District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. That the Board finds that the sewer
facilities of the District can efficiently serve the area
described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the westerly line
of Lemay Ferry Road and the original boundary of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District which boundary is 200
feet southwestwardly from and parallel with the southwesterly
line of Lindbergh Boulevard (100 feet wide); thence
northwestwardly, along said original boundary, a distance of
approximately 720 feet to its intersection with the south-
eastern line of Block 19 of the Carondelet Commons South of
the River des Peres, which point of intersection is also a
point on the boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District as extended by Ordinance No. 783, adopted June 25,
1962; thence South 36 degrees 32 minutes West along said
boundary as extended, a distance of 304.81 feet to an angle
point on said boundary; thence South 53 degrees 46-1/4
minutes East along said boundary as extended, a distance of
641.87 feet to its intersection with the aforesaid west line
of Lemay Ferry Road; thence northwardly, along said west line
of Lemay Ferry Road approximately 330 feet to the point of
beginning.
Section Two. That the petition praying for annexation
was signed by the majority of the owners of land in said area who
own more than one half of the land area to be served.
Section Three. That the interests of sanitation and
public health of the District will be promoted by including the
area in its territory.
Section Four. That the sewage flow from the area
proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public -2-
sanitary sewers other than those of the District.
Section Five. The corporate boundaries of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, the Mississippi River
Subdistrict and the Gravois Creek Trunk Subdistrict are hereby
extended so as to include the above described area.
Section Six. Certified copies of this Ordinance shall
be filed in the offices of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis
County, the Recorder of Deeds of the City of St. Louis, and the
Secretary of State. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted May 9, 1966.
