AN ORDINANCE to extend the boundaries of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and of the Coldwater Creek
Trunk Subdistrict to include an area of St. Louis County which
could be efficiently served by the sewer facilities of the
District and of the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict.
WHEREAS, a petition to the Board of Trustees of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District has been received from the
majority of the owners of the land in said area who own more than
one-half of the land area therein, praying for annexation to both
the District and the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, and
WHEREAS, this area adjoins The Metropolitan St. Louis
Sewer District and such Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict and, the
existing sewers of the District and Subdistrict are adequate to
handle all of its sanitary sewage, that the interests of
sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by
including the area in its territory; and that the sewage flow from
the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through
public sanitary sewers other than those of the District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. That the Board finds that the sewer
facilities of the District can efficiently serve the area
described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the centerlines of
Patterson Road, (40 feet wide),and Wiethaupt Road, (40 feet
wide), said point of intersection being a point on the
existing boundary line of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District; thence northeastwardly, eastwardly and
southeastwardly along said centerline of Patterson Road,
which centerline is also part of the existing boundary of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, to the centerline of
New Halls Ferry Road (60 feet wide); thence northwestwardly
along the said centerline of New Halls Ferry Road to its
intersection with the centerline of Shackelford Road (40 feet
wide); thence southwestwardly, along said centerline of
Shackelford Road to its intersection with the existing
boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District as
extended by Ordinance No. 417, adopted June 16, 1960, which
point of intersection is also approximately 2150 feet
northeastwardly from the intersection of the said centerline
of Shackelford Road and the centerline of Humes Lane,
measured along said centerline of Shackelford Road; thence
generally southeastwardly along the existing boundary of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, as extended by
Ordinances numbered 417, 345 and 852, adopted respectively
June 16, 1960, November 27, 1959 and October 15, 1962, to the
point of beginning.
Section Two. That the petition praying for annexation
was signed by the majority of the owners who own more than one-
half of the land in said area.
Section Three. That the interests of sanitation and
public health of the District will be promoted by including the -2-
area in its territory.
Section Four. That the sewage flow from the area
proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public
sanitary sewers other than those of the District.
Section Five. The corporate boundaries of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and the Coldwater Creek
Trunk Subdistrict are hereby extended so as to include the above--
described area.
Section Six. Certified copies of this ordinance shall
be filed in the offices of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis
County, the Recorder of Deeds of the City of St. Louis, and the
Secretary of State. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted May 9, 1966.
