AN ORDINANCE, authorizing the Executive Director and
the Secretary-Treasurer of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District to purchase from the owner thereof certain real property
in St. Louis County, Missouri, to be used as a site for a pump
station for the Mississippi River Subdistrict, prescribing terms,
and containing an emergency clause.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The Executive Director and the Secretary-
Treasurer of the District are authorized to purchase from, the
owner thereof, the following real property in St. Louis County,
Missouri, to be used as a site for a pump station for the
Mississippi River Subdistrict, at a price not to exceed Seven
Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and No cents ($7,500.00), said
property to be free of all encumbrances, said property described
as follows:
A parcel of land in Township 47 North, Range 7 East, St. Louis
County, Missouri, being part of Lot 3 of the BENJAMIN F.
WATKINS ESTATE SUBDIVISION, as per plat thereof recorded in
Plat Book 9, page 37 of the City (former County) of St.
Louis, Missouri Recorder's office' and described as:
Beginning in the east line of Columbia Bottom Road, 40 feet
wide, at its inter section with the southern line of property
conveyed to Central Rowing Club by deed recorded in Book
4339, page 587, St. Louis County Recorder's office; thence
along the southern line of said Central Rowing Club property
South 82 degrees 00 minutes East, 160.00 feet; thence
southwardly, parallel with said Columbia Bottom Road, South
01 degree 00 minutes East, 160.00 feet; thence North 82
degrees 00 minutes West, 160.00 feet to the east line of said
Columbia Bottom Road; thence along said road line North 01
degree 00 minutes West, 160.00 feet to the beginning.
Section Two. Upon the execution and delivery to them
by the said owner of a Warranty Deed in proper form, being free
from liens and encumbrances, conveying title to the said land to
The Metropolitan St, Louis Sewer District, the Executive Director
and the Secretary-Treasurer shall be and are hereby authorized and
directed to pay to said owner, for the said land, the total sum of
Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and No cents ($7,500.00).
Section Three. An emergency exists within the meaning
of the Plan, since the realty is needed for the protection of the
public health and the purchase must be arranged for without delay.
Accordingly, this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted February 29, 1968.
