HomeMy Public PortalAbout01738 O R D I N A N C E NO. 1738 AN ORDINANCE, authorizing the Executive Director and the Secretary-Treasurer of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to purchase from the owner thereof certain real property in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, to be used as a site for a pump station for the Mississippi River Subdistrict, prescribing terms, and containing an emergency clause. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The Executive Director and the Secretary- Treasurer of the District are authorized to purchase from the owner thereof, the following real property in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, to be used as a site for a pump station for the Mississippi River Subdistrict, at a price not to exceed Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and No cents ($3,500.00), said property to be free of all encumbrances, said property described as follows: Triangular shaped parcel of land in Survey 369 Addition and in City Block 2615 of City of St. Louis fronting 104 feet on the south line of Gasconade Street with a depth southwardly along the east line of Marine Avenue of 226 feet to a point in the west line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad right-of-way, thence northeastwardly along said right-of-way to the south line of Gasconade Street a distance of 248:9-1/4. Section Two. Upon the execution and delivery to them by said owner of a Warranty Deed in proper form, being free from liens and encumbrances, conveying title to the said land to The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, the Executive Director and the Secretary-Treasurer shall be and are hereby authorized and directed to pay to said owner, for the said land, the total sum of Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and No cents ($3,500.00). Section Three. An emergency exists within the meaning of the Plan, since the realty is needed for the protection of the public health and the purchase must be arranged for without delay. Accordingly, this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted May 2, 1968. -2-
