AN ORDINANCE, authorizing the Executive Director and
the Secretary-Treasurer of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District to purchase from the owner thereof certain real property
in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, to be used as a site for a
pump station for the Mississippi River Subdistrict, prescribing
terms, and containing an emergency clause.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The Executive Director and the Secretary-
Treasurer of the District are authorized to purchase from the
owner thereof, the following real property in the City of St.
Louis, Missouri, to be used as a site for a pump station for the
Mississippi River Subdistrict, at a price not to exceed Two
Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars and No Cents ($2,700.00), said
property to be free of all encumbrances, said property described
as follows:
A parcel of ground in Block 2710 of the City of St. Louis,
Missouri; said parcel being more particularly described
as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of
the eastern line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad
Company, Right of Way, 50 feet wide, with the northern
line of Dakota Street, 30 feet wide; thence northwardly
3.88 feet along the eastern line of said Missouri
Pacific Railroad Company, Right of Way along a curve to
the right, having a radius of 4067.66 feet, to a point
of tangency; thence continuing northwardly 103.12 feet
along the eastern line of said Right of Way; thence
eastwardly 60.00 feet along a line perpendicular to the
eastern line of said Right of Way; thence southwardly
80.04 feet along a line parallel with the eastern line
of said Right of Way, to the northern line of said
Dakota Street; thence westwardly 65.78 feet along the
northern line of Dakota Street to the point of
beginning, and containing 5611 Square Feet, or 0.129
Acres.
Section Two. Upon the execution and delivery to them
by said owner of a Warranty Deed in proper form, being free from
liens and encumbrances, conveying title to the said land to The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, the Executive Director and
the Secretary-Treasurer shall be and are hereby authorized and
directed to pay to said owner, for the said land, the total sum of
Two Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars and No Cents ($2,700.00).
Section Three. An emergency exists within the meaning
of the Plan, since the realty is needed for the protection of the
public health and the purchase must be arranged for without delay.
Accordingly, this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted October 11, 1968.
