Meeting Minutes
The Committee on Education and School System Matters met on Tuesday, October 5 at 6 pm in the
Town Council office. Present at the meeting were Councilors Lenk (chair), Piccirilli, and Lawn. Also
present were Steven Singer and John M. Airasian. The purposes of the meeting were 1) to interview
Mr. Singer and Mr. Airasian; and 2) take action on their proposed re -appointments to the Cable Access
Corporation's Board of Directors.
The Committee commended the work of the Board and staff of Watertown's Cable Access Corporation
for their ongoing commitment to providing the residents of Watertown with extensive coverage of local
government through both cable television and the Web. The Committee members discussed with Mr.
Singer and Mr. Airasian the possible expansion of the educational uses of our cable facilities. Both are
committed to the highest quality programming that serves the needs of Watertown and specifically to
increasing use of Cable Access system by our students.
Following the interviews, the Committee voted unanimously to re -appoint Mr. Singer and Mr. Airasian
to the Cable Access Corporation's Board of Directors for 3 -year terms ending September 15, 2013.
The meeting ended at 6:30 pm.
