HomeMy Public PortalAbout01876 O R D I N A N C E NO. 1876 AN ORDINANCE providing for the vacation of portions of sewer easements in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, with an emergency clause WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 27948, approved April 8, 1915, and Ordinance No. 54845, approved December 26, 1967, the City of St. Louis vacated all of the alleys in City Block 1928, bounded by Kossuth, Obear, and Lee Avenues and Grand Boulevard, retaining respectively, to the City and to this District, easements over such former alleys for sewer purposes, and WHEREAS, the owner of such property has relocated portions of the sewers, has granted this District a satisfactory substitute easement, and has requested this District to vacate certain portions of the easements over the former alleys, and this District has no further need for such portions of easements, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The following portions of sewer easements in said City Block 1928 are hereby vacated, to wit: 1. The northern 245 feet of the former western north- south alley (15 feet wide) in aforesaid City Block, excepting therefrom the northern ten (10) feet thereof. 2. A portion of the former east-west alley (15 feet wide) approximately 95 feet in length, extending from the southern extension of the west line of the eastern former north- south alley (15 feet wide) to a point which is ten (10) feet east of the west line of property now or formerly of ADE Construction Company in said City Block measured perpendicularly thereto; including the triangular portion at its intersection with the eastern former east-west alley. 3. That portion of the former north-south alley (15 feet wide) extending from a point 10 feet north of, and measured perpendicularly to, Kossuth Avenue (60 feet wide) to the southern line of the aforesaid east-west former alley in said City Block, including the triangular portion thereof at the intersection with the former east-west alley. Section Two. An emergency within the meaning of the Plan is declared to exist because of the need to clear the title of this property. Accordingly, this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted April 17, 1969.
