HomeMy Public PortalAbout01962 O R D I N A N C E NO. 1962 AN ORDINANCE to extend the boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and of the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict, the Mississippi River Subdistrict, and the Maline Creek Trunk Subdistrict, to include an area of St. Louis County which could be efficiently served by the sewer facilities of the District and of the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict, the Mississippi River Subdistrict, and the Maline Creek Trunk Subdistrict. WHEREAS, a petition to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District has been received from the majority of the owners of the land in said area, who own more than one-half of the land area therein, praying for annexation to the District and the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict, the Mississippi River Subdistrict, and the Maline Creek Trunk Subdistrict, all of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; and WHEREAS, this area adjoins The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and such Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict, the Mississippi River Subdistrict, and the Maline Creek Trunk Subdistrict, and the existing sewers of the District and respective Subdistricts are adequate to handle all of its sanitary sewage; that the interests of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory; and that the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District, 2 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. That the Board finds that the sewer facilities of the District can efficiently serve the area of St. Louis County, Missouri, described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the centerline of Old Halls Ferry Road (60 feet wide) with the eastwardly prolongation of the north line of Northridge Hills, a subdivision of St. Louis County, Missouri, according to the plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 75, page 13 of the St. Louis County Records, which is also a point on the existing boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; thence westwardly, along such prolongation and along such north line of Northridge Hills Subdivision, which line is a part of the existing District boundary, to the northwest corner of such subdivision; thence southwardly, along the west line of such subdivision, which line is also a part of the existing District boundary, to the southwest corner of such subdivision; thence eastwardly, along the south line of such subdivision and its eastwardly prolongation, which are also a part of the existing District boundary, to its intersection with the centerline of aforesaid Old Halls Ferry Road; thence northwardly, along such centerline of Old Halls Ferry Road, which centerline is also a part of the existing District boundary, to the point of beginning. 3 Section Two. That the Board finds that the sewer facilities of the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District can efficiently serve the portion of that area described in Section One hereof, which portion is described as follows: Beginning at the northwest corner of aforesaid Northridge Hills Subdivision, which is also a point on the heretofore existing District boundary; thence southwardly, along the western line of such subdivision, which is also a part of the heretofore existing District boundary, to the southwest corner of such subdivision; thence eastwardly, along the southern line of such subdivision, which line is also part of the heretofore existing District boundary, to the southeast corner of Lot 12 of such subdivision; thence northwardly, along the east line of said Lot 12 and its northward prolongation, to the centerline of Northridge Hills Court (50 feet wide); thence eastwardly, along the said centerline of Northridge Hills Court, to its intersection with the southerly prolongation of the east line of Lot 7 of such subdivision; thence northwardly, along such prolongation and along such east line of Lot 7, to the northeast corner of such Lot 7, which corner is also a point on the heretofore existing boundary of the District; thence westwardly, along the northern line of such subdivision, which line is also a part of the heretofore existing boundary of the District, to 4 the point of beginning. Section Three. That the Board finds that the sewer facilities of the Mississippi River Subdistrict and of the Maline Creek Trunk Subdistrict, both of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, can efficiently serve the portion of that area described in Section One hereof, which portion is described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the centerline of Old Halls Ferry Road with the eastwardly prolongation of the north line of aforesaid Northridge Hills Subdivision, which is also a point on the heretofore existing boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; thence westwardly along said prolongation and along such north line of such Subdivision, which line is a part of the heretofore existing District boundary, to the northwest corner of Lot 6 of such subdivision; thence southwardly, along the west line of such Lot 6 and its southern prolongation, to the centerline of Northridge Hills Court (50 feet wide); thence westwardly, along said centerline of Northridge Hills Court, to its intersection with the northern prolongation of the west line of Lot 13 of such subdivision; thence southwardly along such prolongation and along such west line, to the southwest corner of such Lot 13; thence eastwardly; along the southern line of aforesaid subdivision and its eastwardly prolongation, which are also a part of the existing District boundary, to its intersection with the centerline of 5 aforesaid Old Halls Ferry Road; thence northwardly, along such centerline of Old Halls Ferry Road, which is also a part of the existing District boundary, to the point of beginning. Section Four. That the petition praying for annexation was signed by the majority of the owners of the land in said area, who own more than one-half of the land area therein. Section Five. That the interests of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory and in the respective subdistricts. Section Six. That the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District. Section Seven. The corporate boundaries of the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District are hereby extended so as to include the area described in Section One, above. Section Eight. The boundaries of the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District are hereby extended so as to include the area described in Section Two, above. Section Nine. The boundaries of the Mississippi River Subdistrict and of the Maline Creek Trunk Subdistrict are hereby extended so as to include the area described in Section Three, above. Section Ten. Certified copies of this ordinance shall be filed in the offices of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis 6 County, the Recorder of Deeds of the City of St. Louis, and the Secretary of State.
