HomeMy Public PortalAbout02175 O R D I N A N C E NO. 2175 AN ORDINANCE to extend the boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to include an area of St. Louis County which could be efficiently served by the sewer or drainage facilities of the District. WHEREAS, a petition to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District has been received from the owners of the land in said area who own all of the land area therein praying for annexation to The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, the Mississippi River Subdistrict, Gravois Creek Trunk Subdistrict and Subdistrict No. 282 (Lindbergh-Lemay Ferry Subtrunk); and WHEREAS, this area adjoins The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, the Mississippi River Subdistrict, Gravois Creek Trunk Subdistrict and Subdistrict No. 282 (Lindbergh-Lemay Ferry Subtrunk) and can drain all of its sanitary sewage into existing sewers within the District and such Subdistrict, that the interests of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory; and that the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. That the Board finds that the sewer facilities of the District can efficiently serve the area described as follows: Beginning at a point on the existing boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, which is a line parallel with and 200 feet southwestwardly from the southwestern line of Lindbergh Boulevard, 200 feet wide, said 200 feet being measured at right angles to said southwestern right-of-way line, at its intersection with the southeastern line of property now or formerly owned by Charles Niemeyer and wife as recorded in Deed Book 611, Page 540 of the St. Louis County Records; thence South 35 degrees 39 minutes West, along the southeast line of said Niemeyer property, 508 feet, more or less, to its intersection with the North right- of-way line of Interstate Highway 255; thence generally westwardly and northwestwardly along the North line of said Interstate Highway 255, to its intersection with the northwest line of Avenue H (40 feet wide); thence northeastwardly, along said northwest line of Avenue H to its intersection with the existing boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; thence southeastwardly, along said existing boundary of the District, to its point of beginning. Section Two. That the petition praying for annexion was signed by all of the owners of the land in said area who own all of tile land area of the area to be served. Section Three. That the interests of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory. Section Four. That the sewage flow from the area 3 proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District. Section Five. The corporate boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and of the Mississippi River Subdistrict, Gravois Creek Trunk Subdistrict and Subdistrict No. 282 (Lindbergh-Lemay Ferry Subtrunk) are hereby extended so as to include the above-described area. Section Six. Certified copies of this Ordinance shall be filed in the offices of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis County, the Recorder of Deeds of the City of St. Louis and the Secretary of State. 4 The foregoing Ordinance was adopted June 3, 1971.
