HomeMy Public PortalAbout02177 O R D I N A N C E NO. 2177 AN ORDINANCE to extend the boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to include an area of St. Louis County which could be efficiently served by the sewer or drainage facilities of the District. WHEREAS, petitions to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District have been received from the majority of the owners of the land in said area who own more than one-half of the land area therein praying for annexation to The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, the Mississippi River Subdistrict and the Gravois Creek Trunk Subdistrict; and WHEREAS, this area adjoins The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, the Mississippi River Subdistrict and the Gravois Creek Trunk Subdistrict and can drain all of its sanitary sewage into existing sewers within the District and such Subdistrict, that the interests of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory; and that the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. That the Board finds that the sewer facilities of the District can efficiently serve the area described as follows: Beginning at a point on the existing boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, which is the point of intersection of the centerline of Lindbergh Boulevard (100 feet wide) and the western line of the District's boundary as extended by Ordinance No. 905, adopted January 7, 1963, which point is also approximately 280 feet West of the centerline of Union Road, measured along such centerline of Lindbergh Boulevard; thence South 30 degrees 44-1/3 minutes West, a distance of approximately 450 feet to the western corner of the District's boundary as extended by aforesaid Ordinance No. 905; thence South 58 degrees 25 minutes East along the southwestern District boundary as extended by such Ordinance No. 905 to its intersection with the southeastern line of Union Road (20.46 feet wide), which is also a point on the District's boundary as extended by Ordinance No. 783 adopted June 25, 1962; thence South 36 degrees 23 minutes West along the southeastern line of said Union Road, which is also a part of the District's boundary as extended by said Ordinance No. 783, a distance of approximately 600 feet to its intersection with the northeastern boundary of the District as extended by Ordinance No. 1453, adopted January 13, 1966; thence generally westwardly, southwestwardly, southwardly and southeastwardly along the District's boundary as extended by aforesaid Ordinance No. 1453, to its intersection with aforesaid southeastern line of Union Road; thence southwestwardly, along said southeast line of Union Road, to its intersection with the northeast right-of-way line of Interstate Highway 55; thence northwestwardly along said northeast right-of-way line, to its intersection with the northwestern line of said Union Road; thence North 18 degrees 33-1/2 minutes West along said right-of-way line a distance of 454.32 feet to an angle point; thence North 76 degrees 56 minutes West along said right-of-way line a distance of 60.13 feet to an angle point; thence North 12 degrees 52-2/3 minutes East along said right-of-way line a distance of 1199.30 feet to an angle point; thence North 26 degrees 02- 1/6 minutes East along said right-of-way line and its northeastwardly extension a distance of approximately 450 feet to its intersection with aforesaid centerline of Lindbergh Boulevard; thence eastwardly, along said centerline of Lindbergh Boulevard a distance of approximately 725 feet to the point of beginning. Section Two. That the petitions praying for annexation were signed by the majority of the owners of the land in said area who own more than one-half of the land area of the area to be served. Section Three. That the interests of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory. Section Four. That the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District. Section Five. The corporate boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, the Mississippi River Subdistrict and the Gravois Creek Trunk Subdistrict are hereby 4 extended so as to include the above-described area. Section Six. Certified copies of this Ordinance shall be filed in the offices of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis County, the Recorder of Deeds of the City of St. Louis and the Secretary of State. 5 The foregoing Ordinance was adopted June 3, 1971.
