HomeMy Public PortalAbout02236 O R D I N A N C E NO. 2236 AN ORDINANCE to extend the boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, the Watkins Creek Trunk Subdistrict and the Mississippi River Subdistrict of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to include an area of St. Louis County which could be efficiently served by the sewer facilities of the District, the Watkins Creek Trunk Subdistrict and the Mississippi River Subdistrict. WHEREAS, petitions to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District have been received from the majority of the owners of the land in said area, who own more than one-half of the area therein, praying for annexation to the District, the Watkins Creek Trunk Subdistrict and the Mississippi River Subdistrict of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; and WHEREAS, this area adjoins The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and such Watkins Creek Trunk Subdistrict and the Mississippi River Subdistrict, and the existing sewers of the District and Subdistricts are adequate to handle all of its sanitary sewage, that the interest of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory; and that the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. That the Board finds that the sewer facilities of the District can efficiently serve the area described as follows: Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot A of Leanora Subdivision, a subdivision of St. Louis County, Missouri, which corner is also an angle point on the original boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; thence northwardly along the westerly line of Lot B of said Leanora Subdivision, which line is also a part of the original boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, a distance of 826 feet, more or less, to its intersection with the southeast line of Lake Village No. 4, a subdivision of St. Louis County, Missouri, according to the plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 63, Page 6 of the St. Louis County records, which southeast line is also the southeast line of U.S. Survey 209 and the northwest line of U.S. Survey 155 (said survey line being referred to in the Plan of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, on page 7 thereof, as the easterly line of U.S. Survey 209 and the westerly line of U.S. Survey 155); thence northeastwardly, along said southeast line of said Lake Village No. 4 Subdivision, to its intersection with a line parallel with and 100 feet eastwardly from, measured at right angles to the west line of aforesaid Lot B; thence southwardly, along said parallel line to its intersection with the western prolongation of the 3 north line of property now or formerly of Riegel Realty and Development Company, as conveyed by instrument recorded in Book 6287, Page 2496 of the St. Louis County records; thence eastwardly, along said prolongation, and along the north line of said Riegel Realty and Development Company property, a distance of 160 feet more or less, to the northeast corner of said Riegel property; thence eastwardly, in a straight line, a distance of 50 feet more or less, to its intersection with the northwest corner of property conveyed to Victor V. Simonetti and wife by instrument recorded in Book 6363, Page 1622 of the St. Louis County records; thence eastwardly along the north line of said Simonetti property a distance of 120 feet more or less, to the northeastern corner thereof; thence southwardly along the east line of said Simonetti property 180 feet more or less to its intersection with the north line of property now or formerly of Thomas W. Moss and wife, as conveyed by instrument recorded in Book 5371, Page 76 of the St. Louis County records; thence eastwardly, along the said north line of Moss property, a distance of approximately 130 feet to the northeast corner of said Moss property; thence southwardly, along the east line of said Moss property, a distance of 275 feet more or less, to its intersection with the original District boundary; thence westwardly, along said original 4 District boundary, a distance of approximately 560 feet to the point of beginning. Section Two. That the petitions praying for annexation were signed by the majority of the owners of the land in said area, who own more than one-half of the area therein. Section Three. That the interest of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory. Section Four. That the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District. Section Five. The corporate boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, the Watkins Creek Trunk Subdistrict and the Mississippi River Subdistrict are hereby extended so as to include the above described area. Section Six. Certified copies of this Ordinance shall be filed in the offices of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis County, the Recorder of Deeds of the City of St. Louis, and the Secretary of State. 5 The foregoing Ordinance was adopted October 29, 1971.
