HomeMy Public PortalAbout02245 O R D I N A N C E NO. 2245 AN ORDINANCE to extend the boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and of the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict to include an area of St. Louis County, Missouri, which could be efficiently served by the sewer facilities of the District and of the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict. WHEREAS, a petition to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District has been received from the sole owner of the land in said area who owns all of the land area therein, praying for annexation to both the District and the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; and WHEREAS, this area adjoins The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and such Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict and the existing sewers of the District and Subdistrict are adequate to handle all of its sanitary sewage; that the interests of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory; and that the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. That the Board finds that the sewer facilities of the District can efficiently serve the area described as follows: Beginning at a point in the original boundary line of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, which point is the point of intersection of the eastward prolongation of the south line of Lot 14, Ashby Place Amended, a subdivision of St. Louis County, Missouri, according to the plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 9, Page 3 of the St. Louis County records, and the centerline of Gilwood Street, (50 feet wide)(formerly Longfellow Avenue), which centerline is part of such original boundary line; thence westwardly along such eastwardly prolongation and along such south line of Lot 14 to the southwest corner of such Lot 14; thence northwardly along the west line of such Lot 14 and its northward prolongation to the centerline of Decker Avenue (50 feet wide), which centerline is a part of the original boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; thence eastwardly along such centerline, which is also part of said original boundary, to its intersection with the centerline of aforesaid Gilwood Street; thence southwardly along said centerline of Gilwood Street, which is also a part of the original District boundary, to the point of beginning. Section Two. That the petition praying for annexation was signed by the sole owner of all of the land in said area. Section Three. That the interest of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory. Section Four. That the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public 3 sanitary sewers other than those of the District. Section Five. The corporate boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict are hereby extended so as to include the above- described area. Section Six. Certified copies of this Ordinance shall be filed in the offices of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis County, the Recorder of Deeds of the City of St. Louis and the Secretary of State. 4 The foregoing Ordinance was adopted November 10, 1971.
