HomeMy Public PortalAbout02304 O R D I N A N C E NO. 2304 AN ORDINANCE to extend the boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to include an area of St. Louis County which could be efficiently served by the sewer facilities of the District and the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict. WHEREAS, a petition to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District has been received from the majority of the owners of the land in said area, who own more than one-half of the area therein, praying for annexation to the District and the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; and WHEREAS, this area adjoins The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict, and the existing sewers of the District and Subdistrict are adequate to handle all of its sanitary sewage, that the interest of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory; and that the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRACT: Section One. That the Board finds that the sewer facilities of the District can efficiently serve the area described as follows: Beginning at the northeastern-most corner of the boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District as extended by Ordinance No. 642, adopted October 19, 1961, which corner was therein described as being the point of intersection of the centerline of Missouri State Highway No. 140 (then 60 feet wide) and the centerline of Old Jamestown Road (then 40 feet wide); thence eastwardly along the said centerline of Missouri State Highway No. 140 to its intersection with the centerline of Lewis and Clark Boulevard (also known as U.S. Highway No. 67); thence southwardly along said centerline of Lewis and Clark Boulevard a distance of approximately 1500 feet to its intersection with the eastern prolongation of the southern line of a private road as described in instrument recorded in Book 1887, Page 241 of the St. Louis County Records; thence westwardly along said southern line of private road to its intersection with the East line of Lot 2080, Paddock Forest Plat No. 2, a subdivision of St. Louis County, Missouri, according to the plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 120, Pages 18, 19 and 20 of the St. Louis County Records; which point is a point on the existing District boundary as extended by Ordinance No. 1553, adopted November 10, 1966; thence generally, westwardly, northwardly, westwardly, southwardly, westwardly and northwardly along the existing District boundary as extended by Ordinances numbered 1553, 1646 adopted August 10, 1967, 1074 adopted November 14, 1963 and 642 adopted October 19, 1961, to the point of beginning. 3 Section Two. That the petitions praying for annexation were signed by the majority of the owners of all of the land in said area who own more than one-half of the land area of the area to be served. Section Three. That the interest of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory. Section Four. That the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District. Section Five. The corporate boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and the Coldwater Creek Trunk Subdistrict are hereby extended so as to include the above- described area. Section Six. Certified copies of this Ordinance shall be filed in the offices of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis County, the Recorder of Deeds of the City of St. Louis and the Secretary of State. 4 The foregoing Ordinance was adopted June 8, 1972.
