HomeMy Public PortalAbout02374 O R D I N A N C E NO. 2374 AN ORDINANCE to extend the boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and the Mississippi River Subdistrict to include an area of St. Louis County which could be efficiently served by the sewer or drainage facilities of the District. WHEREAS, a petition to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District has been received from the majority of the owners of the land in said area who own more than one-half of the land area therein praying for annexation to The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and the Mississippi River Subdistrict; and WHEREAS, this area adjoins The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and the Mississippi River Subdistrict and can drain all of its sanitary sewage into existing sewers within the District and such Subdistrict, that the interests of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory; and that the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. That the Board finds that the sewer facilities of the District can efficiently serve the area described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the northwest line of the Jefferson Barracks Military Reservation with the southeast prolongation of the southwest line of Block 135 of Carondelet Commons south of the River des Peres, being the southern most corner of Southwood Estates, a subdivision of St. Louis County, Missouri, according to the plat thereof as recorded in Plat Book 100, Pages 60 and 61 of the St. Louis County Records, which point is also a point on the existing boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District as extended by Ordinance No. 683, adopted December 7, 1961; thence southwestwardly along the northwest line of said Military Reservation to its intersection with the southeastern prolongation of the southwest line of Keim Homesites Addition, a subdivision of St. Louis County, Missouri, according to the plat thereof as recorded in Plat Book 38, Page 39 of the St. Louis County Records; thence northwestwardly along said prolongation, and said southwest line of Keim Homesites Addition subdivision to the westernmost corner of Lot 45 of said subdivision; thence northeastwardly along the northwest line of said Lot 45 to the southernmost corner of Lot 46 of said subdivision; thence northwestwardly along the southwest line of said Lot 46 to its westernmost corner, which is also a point in the eastern line of Telegraph Road, 80 feet wide; thence westwardly, in a straight line, across said road to the southernmost corner of property conveyed to JOSEPH E. WEINHEIMER and wife by deed recorded in Book 4618, Page 93 of the St. Louis County Records; thence northwestwardly along the southwest line of said WEINHEIMER property to the westernmost corner thereof; thence northeastwardly along the northwest line of said WEINHEIMER property to the northernmost corner there of; thence southeastwardly along the northeast line of said WEINHEIMER property to the westernmost corner of property conveyed to BOBBY W. SKELTON and wife by deed recorded in Book 6390, Page 2369 of the St. Louis County Records; thence northeastwardly along the northwest line of said SKELTON property to the northernmost corner thereof, which is also a point in the southwestern line of property conveyed to The Lemay Church of God by deed recorded in Book 5937, Page 477 of the St. Louis County Records; thence northwestwardly along the southwest line of said Lemay Church of God property to the westernmost corner thereof, which corner is also a point on the original boundary of the District; thence generally northeastwardly, southeastwardly, northeastwardly, southeastwardly, southwestwardly and southeastwardly along the original and existing District boundary as extended by Ordinance No. 1163, adopted May 14, 1964, and Ordinance No. 683, adopted December 7, 1961, to the point of beginning. Section Two. That the petition praying for annexation was signed by the majority of the owners of the land in said area who own more than one-half of the land area of the area to be served. Section Three. That the interests of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory. Section Four. That the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District. 4 Section Five. The corporate boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and the Mississippi River Subdistrict are hereby extended so as to include the above- described area. Section Six. Certified copies of this Ordinance shall be filed in the offices of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis County, the Recorder of Deeds of the City of St. Louis and the Secretary of State. 5 The foregoing Ordinance was adopted January 26, 1973.
