COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, NOVEMBER 20, 2017
CALL TO ORDER
The City Council “Pre-Meeting” of November 20, 2017, was convened at 5:45 P.M. by
President Pro Tempore Rick Prather in the absence of Mayor Carrie Tergin. Mayor
Tergin arrived at 5:47 and assumed the Chair.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Fitzwater, Graham, Henry, Hussey, Kemna, Mihalevich, Prather,
Schreiber, and Ward
Arrived Late: Wiseman (arrived at 5:48 P.M.)
Absent: None
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Miscellaneous Agenda Items – President Pro Tempore Prather reminded the Council of
tonight’s recognitions: Helias’ Volleyball Team as the state volleyball champs, and the
City’s November outstanding employees.
Mayor Tergin and City Administrator, Steve Crowell went over the list of presenters
scheduled under item 7 of the agenda:
- Diane Gillespie, Convention & Visitors Bureau Budget Presentation
- Rev. Cassandra Gould, Quinn Chapel, Reading Room – Mayor Tergin
provided a book for Council Members to sign and donate to the Reading
Room
- Lt. Christopher White, Salvation Army – Red Kettle Campaign
- Jane Beetem, Wyn Harrison (replacing Jenny Smith), and Tony Smith, School
Street Presentation
Mayor Tergin stated that Fire Chief Matt Schofield would be presenting a brief
presentation on fire safety under item 15 of the agenda.
