HomeMy Public PortalAbout02447 O R D I N A N C E NO. 2447 AN ORDINANCE to extend the boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and the Mississippi River Subdistrict to include an area of St. Louis County, Missouri, which could be efficiently served by the sewer or drainage facilities of the District and the Mississippi River Subdistrict. WHEREAS, a petition to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District has been received from the owner of the land in said area who owns all of the land area therein praying for annexation to The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and the Mississippi River Subdistrict; and WHEREAS, this area adjoins The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and the Mississippi River Subdistrict, and can drain all of its sanitary sewage into existing sewers within the District and such Subdistrict, that the interests of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory; and that the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. That the Board finds that the sewer facilities of the District can efficiently serve the area described, as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the southeast corner of Section 21, the southwest corner of Section 22, the northwest corner of Section 27 and the northeast corner of Section 28, all of Township 45 North Range 5 East, St. Louis County, Missouri, which is also the southwest corner of Clayton Hills Subdivision, a subdivision of St. Louis County, Missouri, according to the plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 46, Page 32 of the St. Louis County Records, and also a point on the original boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; thence eastwardly, along the southern line of said Clayton Hills Subdivision, which is also a part of the original boundary of the District, a distance of approximately 110 feet to its intersection with the western right-of-way line of Interstate Highway 244; thence southwardly, along said Interstate Highway Right-of-Way 817 feet more or less to the northeast corner of property now or formerly of Mitch M. Murgh and wife; then westwardly, along the North line of said Murgh property 358 feet more or less to the southeast corner of property now or formerly of J. A. Hesse and wife, as conveyed by instrument recorded in Book 6634, Page 1643 of the St. Louis County Records; thence northwardly, along the East line of said Hesse property 804 feet more or less to a point in the South line of Country Life Acres Subdivision, a subdivision of St. Louis County, Missouri, according to the plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 21, Page 16 of the St. Louis County Records, which point is a point on the existing District boundary as extended by Ordinance No. 599, adopted July 10, 1961; thence eastwardly, along the South line of said Country Life Acres Subdivision, 252 feet more or less, to the point of beginning. Section Two. That the petition praying for annexation was signed by the sole owner of the land in said area who owns all of the land area of the area to be served. Section Three. That the interests of sanitation and public health of the District will be promoted by including the area in its territory. Section Four. That the sewage flow from the area proposed to be annexed has no available outlet through public sanitary sewers other than those of the District. Section Five. The corporate boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and of the Mississippi River Subdistrict are hereby extended so as to include the above- described area. Section Six. Certified copies of this Ordinance shall 3 be filed in offices of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis County, the Recorder of Deeds of the City of St. Louis and the Secretary of State. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted June 20, 1973.
