O R D I N A N C E NO. 2573
AN ORDINANCE repealing Ordinance No. 2463 which prescribes a
classification plan for all employees in the classified service, and enacting a
new ordinance on the same subject.
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District, on September 26, 1973, authorized the Civil Service Commission to
conduct an audit of certain positions in the classified service, and
WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission completed said audit and
reported its findings and recommendations to the Board of Trustees, and
WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission's findings and
recommendations affect the District's classification structure and the status
of certain District employees covered thereunder, BE IT ORDAINED BY
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. Ordinance No. 2463, adopted August 10, 1973, is
hereby repealed.
Section Two. Effective with the first pay period following the
effective date of this Ordinance, and subject to the Civil Service Rules for
administration, all positions in the classified service of the District shall
be classified, coded and graded as follows:

Section Three. Employees who are regraded or reallocated
to higher-rated classes as a result of the Civil Service
Commission study, effective with the first pay period following
the effective date of this ordinance, shall be assigned new
increment (anniversary) dates and shall be granted pay adjustments
not to exceed the amount of one increment in the event the new
classes are not more than two grades higher or pay adjustments not
to exceed the amount of two increments in the event the new
classes are three or more grades higher.
Section Four. Employees who are regraded or reallocated
to lower-rated classes as a result of the Civil Service Commission
study, effective with the first pay period following the effective
date of this ordinance, shall be reduced to the same steps in the
lower grades, but at the same rates of pay, with the protected
wage differentials to be reduced by the amounts of any future
increases. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted April 10, 1974.
