AUTHORIZING CARTERET ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
CORPORATION TO SUBMIT PROJECT PROPOSALS TO
URBAN ENTERPRISE ZONE AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the Carteret Economic Development Corporation has prepared a
proposal for submission to the NJ UJEZA for funding fi.om the Enterprise Zone Fund
Assistance Funds for the following project: $100,000.00 Economic Development
Loan to EQUIPCO., Inc; and
WHEREAS, it is considered to be in the best interest of the Borough of Carteret and
the community in particular to apply for Enterprise Zone Assistance funds for the
above mentioned project which will bring at least 40 employees into the community
with at least 10 percent growth in the immediate future; and
WHEREAS, this project is eligible under the Urban Enterprise Zone Guidelines for
Project Services/Commercial Construction Costs; and
WHEREAS, the proposal is an eligible use of the Urban Enterprise Zone Assistance
funds under the provisions of the Urban Enterprise Zone Act, P.L. 1993, Chapter 367,
and there is sufficient funding available to cover the cost of the proposal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret that the Secretary of the Carteret Economic Development
Corporation be authorized to submit such project proposal to the Urban Enterprise
Zone Authority for further review and approval.
