HomeMy Public PortalAbout02620 REPEALED BY ORDINANCE NO. 2918 O R D I N A N C E NO. 2620 AN ORDINANCE repealing Ordinance No. 2464 adopted August 10, 1973, which prescribed a compensation plan for all employees in the classified service, and enacting a new ordinance on the same subject in lieu thereof, with an emergency clause. WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission has recommended the adoption of the following new compensation schedules to supersede those provided in Ordinance No. 2464, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. Ordinance No. 2464 adopted August 10, 1973, is hereby repealed and superseded. Section Two. The pay schedule which follows is hereby adopted and prescribed for all classification grades of all positions in the classified service on and after August 1, 1974: 2 SCHEDULE A:Applicable to all classes except those in Labor & Trades Group below Grade 17. An employee who is regularly assigned to work on a shift basis shall be paid as follows: (1) employees on the second shift shall receive premium pay at the rate equivalent to one full step above the normal rate for time worked on the second shift; (2) employees on the third shift shall receive premium pay at the rate equivalent to two full steps above the normal rate for time worked on the third shift. Section Four. It is found and hereby declared that the difficulty in filling vacancies in the classified service and the loss of well qualified employees by resignation because of compensation which no longer meets the requirements of Plan Section 8.070 creates an emergency within the meaning of the Plan. Accordingly, this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted July 31, 1974.
