AN ORDINANCE awarding contracts to the Seaboard Surety
Company (Alexander and Alexander, Inc., Agent) for the District's
Employee Faithful Performance Blanket Bond from October 1, 1974 to
October 1, 1977; to the Continental Insurance Co. (Insurance
Consultants, Inc., Agent) for Faithful Performance Bond for the
General Counsel for such period, and to Kemper Insurance Co.
(Lawton-Byrne-Bruner Insurance Agency Co., Agent) for Faithful
Performance Bond for the Secretary-Treasurer, with an emergency
clause.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
METROPOLITAN ST. LOUD SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The Seaboard Surety Co., the Continental
Insurance Co. and the Kemper Insurance Co., who respectively
submitted the lowest bids for the District's Employee Faithful
Performance Blanket Bond at and for a premium of Two Thousand
Eight Hundred Forty-eight Dollars ($2,848.00), the Faithful
Performance Bond for the General Counsel at and for a premium of
Five Hundred Nine Dollars ($509.00), and for the Faithful
Performance Bond for the Secretary-Treasurer at and for a premium
of Four Hundred Thirty-four Dollars ($434.00) all of which bids
were received and opened on September 18, 1974 at 11:00 A.M. at
the District's offices by the Secretary-Treasurer, for such three
year policy period from October 1, 1974 to October 1, 1977, are
hereby awarded the contracts for such Fidelity Performance Bonds.
Section Two. The Kemper Insurance Co. submitted the
same low bid on the Bond for the Secretary-Treasurer through two
Agents, i.e., Lawton-Byrne-Bruner Insurance Agency Co. and The
Wightman Agency, Inc., and the Board of Trustees, in the exercise
of its discretion, hereby selects the bid of the
Lawton-Byrne-Bruner Insurance Agency Co. as that of the low
bidder.
Section Three. This Ordinance being for the award of
contracts for Faithful Performance Bonds for the District's
employees in general and for the General Counsel and
Secretary-Treasurer and thus being necessary for the protection of
the public welfare, constitutes an emergency within the meaning of
the Plan, and this Ordinance shall be and become effective
immediately upon its adoption. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted October 9, 1974.
