AN ORDINANCE renewing a contract with the Allendale
Insurance Company and Insurance Company of North America (Wightman
Agency, Inc., agent) for the District's property insurance
coverage from October 1, 1974 to October 1, 1977, with an
emergency clause.
WHEREAS, the District has been renewing from month-to-
month its property insurance coverage until it can award a
contract for permanent coverage, and it has been notified by such
carriers that it will be necessary to effect permanent insurance,
since it is no longer possible for them to continue such
month-to-month coverage; however, the District may cancel pro rata
with no penalties; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The Allendale Insurance Company and
Insurance Company of North America, the current carriers of the
District's property insurance who have submitted a renewal
proposal by their agents, The Wightman Agency, Inc., at and for a
premium of Seventy-five Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-eight Dollars
($75,988.00) for the period October 1, 1974 to October 1, 1977,
are hereby awarded a renewal contract for such insurance coverage
on the District's buildings and contents.
Section Two. This Ordinance being for the award of a
contract for the District's property insurance and thus being
necessary for the protection of the public welfare, constitutes an
emergency within the meaning of the Plan, and this Ordinance shall
be and become effective immediately upon its adoption.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted October 23, 1974.
