HomeMy Public PortalAbout02699 O R D I N A N C E NO. 2699 AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Twenty-five Thousand Sixty-one Dollars Eighty Cents ($25,061.80) from the Employees' Group Insurance Refund Deposit (Account Number 1-3038) of the General Fund to the Personnel Department for the additional sums needed for the payment for the portion of the premium for the District's Employee Benefit Group Insurance coverage from September 1, 1973 to June 1, 1974, which was not paid by monthly estimate. WHEREAS, the Connecticut General Life Insurance Company, carrier of the District's Employee Group Medical Insurance, was paid $14.70 per month for each employee with individual coverage and $26.65 per month for each employee with dependent coverage during the period from September 1, 1973 to June 1, 1974; and WHEREAS, the monthly premium for this period should have been $16.39 for individual coverage and $29.71 for dependent coverage, resulting in an underpayment totaling $25,061.80; and WHEREAS, in Account Number 1-3038 (Employees' Group Insurance Refund Deposit) of the General Fund, there exists an amount sufficient to fund this underpayment, and which amount was received as a refund from the General American Life Insurance Company as money which had been contributed both by employees and the District for generally the same individual and dependent medical insurance premiums, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The sum of Twenty-five Thousand Sixty-one Dollars Eighty Cents ($25,061.80) is hereby appropriated from the Employees' Group Insurance Refund Deposit (Account Number 1-3038) of the General Fund to the Personnel Department for the additional sums needed for the payment for the portion of the premium for the District's Employee Benefit Group Insurance coverage from September 1, 1973 to June 1, 1974. Section Two. This Ordinance, being an appropriation Ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment. 3 The foregoing Ordinance was adopted November 13, 1974.
