AN ORDINANCE amending the District's employee benefit
group insurance contract with Lincoln National Life Insurance
Company from August 1, 1975, to November 1, 1975, with an
emergency clause.
WHEREAS, the employee benefit group insurance carrier
has offered to increase the benefits of some aspects of the major
medical provisions as well as the maximum amount of life insurance
that can be carried, and the District is desirous of doing so.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The District's contract with the Lincoln
National Life Insurance Company is hereby amended to provide an
increase in the Major Medical Lifetime Maximum from the Present
$25,000.00 to $50,000.00, and add that the Major Medical provision
will pay 100% of the covered charges in any calendar year after
the first $2,500.00 has been incurred, as provided in Ordinance
No. 2916, adopted August 1, 1975.
Section Two. Such contract is also hereby amended to
provide an increase in the limits of the amount of life insurance
and accidental death and dismemberment available to District
employees from $20,000.00 to $40,000.00 as set forth in aforesaid
Ordinance No. 2916.
Section Three. The cost of such increased benefits is
$.80 per month per employee plus $.64 per month per employee with
dependents, or a total of $861.44 per month for the present
District personnel for such major medical benefits, and $.67 per
$1,000.00 coverage per month, per employee as applicable, or a
total of $87.10 per month, for increased coverage life insurance
and accidental death and dismemberment. Of these sums, the
employees contribute a total of $259.84 per month, and the
District $688.70 per month.
Section Four. Such provisions shall be effective from
August 1, 1975 to November 1, 1975.
Section Five. This Ordinance being for the purpose of
providing increased benefits for the District's employees' group
insurance and thus necessary for the protection of the District's
employees constitutes an emergency within the meaning of the Plan,
and this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted August 1, 1975.
