AN ORDINANCE, appropriating One Million Four Hundred
Seventy Thousand Dollars ($1,470,000.00) from the Mississippi
River Construction Fund, of which One Hundred Forty-Seven Thousand
Dollars ($147,000.00) is to be used to pay the District's ten
percent (10%) share; One Million One Hundred Two Thousand Five
Hundred Dollars ($1,102,500.00) is expected to be received from
the Environmental Protection Agency, and Two Hundred Twenty
Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($220,500.00) is expected to be
received from the Clean Water Commission for the cost of a Step I
engineering study of the Mississippi River Computerized Inter-
ceptor System.
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the District will
receive a seventy-five percent (75%) grant from the Environmental
Protection Agency of the United States government to pay seventy-
five percent (75%) of the cost of said study, and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the District will
receive a fifteen percent (15%) grant from the Clean Water
Commission of the State of Missouri to pay fifteen percent (15%)
of the cost of said study,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of One Hundred Forty-seven
Thousand Dollars ($147,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the
Mississippi River Construction Fund to pay ten percent (10%) of
the cost of a Step I engineering study of the Mississippi River
Computerized Interceptor System.
Section Two. The anticipated grant from the
Environmental Protection Agency of the United States government is
expected to amount to One Million One Hundred Two Thousand Five
Hundred Dollars ($1,102,500.00) which, when received, will be
deposited in the Mississippi River Construction Fund, and is to
pay seventy-five percent (75%) of the cost of a Step I engineering
study of the Mississippi River Computerized Interceptor System,
and said anticipated amount is hereby appropriated to be used to
make said payments when due and payable under the terms of the
contracts for said study.
Section Three. The anticipated grant from the Clean
Water Commission of the State of Missouri is expected to amount to
Two Hundred Twenty Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($220,500.00)
which, when received, will be deposited in the Mississippi River
Construction Fund, and is to pay fifteen percent (15%) of the cost
of a Step I engineering study of the Mississippi River
Computerized Interceptor System, and said anticipated amount is
hereby appropriated to be used to make said payments when due and
payable under the terms of the contracts for said study.
Section Four. This ordinance, being an appropriation
ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted September 28, 1977.
