HomeMy Public PortalAbout03337 O R D I N A N C E NO. 3337 AN ORDINANCE appropriating Four Hundred Ninety-one Thousand Dollars ($491,000.00) from the Mississippi River Construction Fund, of which Forty-nine Thousand One Hundred Dollars ($49,100.00) is to be used to pay the District's ten percent (10%) share; Three Hundred Sixty-eight Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($368,250.00) is expected to be received from the Environmental Protection Agency, and Seventy-three Thousand Six Hundred Fifty Dollars ($73,650.00) is expected to be received from the Clean Water Commission for the cost of engineering services required to prepare a comprehensive solids management plan for all of the ash, grit and screenings and other residual solids generated by the wastewater treatment facilities within the District. WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the District will receive a seventy-five percent (75%) grant from the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States government to pay seventy- five percent (75%) of the cost of said services, and WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the District will receive a fifteen percent (15%) grant from the Clean Water Commission of the State of Missouri to pay fifteen percent (15%) of the cost of said services, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The sum of Forty-nine Thousand One Hundred Dollars ($49,100.00) is hereby appropriated from the Mississippi River Construction Fund to pay ten percent (10%) of the cost of engineering services required to prepare a comprehensive solids management plan for all the ash, grit and screenings and other residual solids generated by the wastewater treatment facilities within the District. Section Two. The anticipated grant from the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States government is expected to amount to Three Hundred Sixty-eight Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($368,250.00) which, when received, will be deposited in the Mississippi River Construction Fund, and is to pay seventy-five percent (75%) of the cost of engineering services required to prepare a comprehensive solids management plan for all of the ash, grit and screenings and other residual solids generated by the wastewater treatment facilities within the District, and said anticipated amount is hereby appropriated to be used to make said payments when due and payable under the terms of the contract for said services. Section Three. The anticipated grant from the Clean Water Commission of the State of Missouri is expected to amount to Seventy-three Thousand Six Hundred Fifty Dollars ($73,650.00) which, when received, will be deposited in the Mississippi River Construction Fund, and is to pay fifteen percent (15%) of the cost of engineering services required to prepare a comprehensive solids management plan for all of the ash, grit and screenings and other residual solids generated by the wastewater treatment facilities within the District, and said anticipated amount is hereby appropriated to be used to make said payments -2- when due and payable under the terms of the contract for said services. Section Four. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted September 28, 1977. -3-
