“We are so proud that HealthWorks has received the first Gold LEED Certification in the Town
of Leesburg,” commented Marantha Edwards, Leesburg’s Economic Development Director. “It
was a pleasure working with them through the development process for their new facility.
Clearly, a healthy and positive environment is as critical as the services provided when it comes
to healthcare.”
About HealthWorks for Northern Virginia: The mission of HealthWorks for Northern Virginia is
to prevent disease, promote wellness, and reduce health care disparities in Northern Virginia by
eliminating the barriers to access to affordable health care. HealthWorks provides medical,
dental and behavioral health care to anyone in need, regardless of age or ability to pay,
whether they have insurance or not. HealthWorks offers a full range of culturally competent
family practice primary care services including: prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute
and chronic illness; chronic disease management; referrals and follow‐up for specialty
diagnostic treatment including obstetrics; and in‐patient follow‐up. Behavioral health and
enabling services (interpretation, transportation and eligibility determination) and health
education are integrated into primary care. Dental services include preventative, restorative
and emergency care for adults and children. HealthWorks currently operates at three locations
– Leesburg, Sterling and Herndon – which together served nearly 7,500 patients in 2012. For
