CITY OF TIFFIN ORDINANCE NO. 2014-348
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TIFFIN,
IOWA, CHAPTER 52, WEEDS AND NOXIOUS GROWTHS; TO ADD
HEIGHT OF GRASS RESTRICTIONS.
BE IT ENACTED by the .City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa:
Section I. Purpose: The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Section 52.01,
of the Tiffin Code of Ordinances, to provide that lawn grass more than 10 inches
high shall be,subject to the provisions of Chapter 52.
Section II. Amendment: Section 52.01 of Chapter 52 is hereby replaced with
the following: •
CHAPTER 52
WEEDS AND NOXIOUS GROWTHS,
52.01 WEEDS AND NOXIOUS GROWTHS MUST BE DESTROYED OR CUT. All
}
weeds, vines, brush or other growth which constitutes a health, safety, or fire hazard, on any lot
or parking adjacent thereto, shall be destroyed by the owner or persons in possession of the lot;
or, in lieu of destruction, weeds and growths specified herein shall be frequently cut. The Public
Works Department shall determine the necessary frequency of cuffing and shall determine
whether or not the cutting is properly done. In addition to'noxious"weeds, ordinary lawn grass
that is allowed to grow more than eight (8) inches high shall also be deemed a nuisance under
this chapter and subject to all provisions herein.

Section IILRepealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinance in conflict with the
provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section IV. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part olthis -
ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not
affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof
not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section V. When Effective. This ordinance shall be in effect after its final
passage, approval, and posting as provided by law.
