AN ORDINANCE, renewing a contract with Blue Cross
Hospital Service, Inc. of Missouri and Missouri Medical Service
for the District's employee benefit group insurance coverage from
September 1, 1978 to September 1, 1979.
WHEREAS, Blue Cross Hospital Service, Inc. of Missouri
and Missouri Medical Service, the current carriers of the employee
benefit group insurance coverage as renewed to September 1, 1978,
has submitted a proposal for renewal of such contract for the year
September 1, 1978 to September 1, 1979 at an estimated cost for
the year of $781,167.00, covering an estimated 850 employees and
425 employees with dependent coverage, and
WHEREAS, an increase in benefit provisions to include
full semi-private room Blue Cross program and improved surgical
schedule is provided; and
WHEREAS, the District's contribution toward the family
plan coverage is $46.64 and employee deduction is $63.75 per
month,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The Blue Cross Hospital Service, Inc. of
Missouri and Missouri Medical Service, the present insurance
carriers for the District's employee benefit group insurance
coverage, are hereby awarded the renewal contract for such
coverage from September 1, 1978 to September 1, 1979 at and for an
estimated premium of Seven Hundred Eighty-one Thousand One Hundred
Sixty-seven Dollars ($781,167.00).
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted August 23, 1978.
