HomeMy Public PortalAbout03696 O R D I N A N C E NO. 3696 AN ORDINANCE, renewing a contract with State Farm Insurance Company for the District's automobile fleet insurance coverage from February 1, 1979 to February 1, 1980, with an emergency clause. WHEREAS, State Farm Insurance Company, the carrier of the District's automobile fleet insurance coverage from February 1, 1978 to February 1, 1979, has submitted a proposal for renewal of such contract for the year February 1, 1979 to February 1, 1980 at a cost for the year of Forty-three Thousand Three Hundred Seventy-seven Dollars and Eighty-seven Cents ($43,377.87) for such policy period, and WHEREAS, such premium is at a lower rate than last year, Ordinance No. 3210 thus permits renewal, and it is the opinion of the District's insurance advisor that a solicitation of bids would result in no material advantage to the District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The State Farm Insurance Company, the present insurance carrier for the District's automobile fleet insurance, is hereby awarded the renewal contract for such coverage from February 1, 1979 to February 1, 1980 at and for a premium of Forty-three Thousand Three Hundred Seventy-seven Dollars and Eighty-seven Cents ($43,377.87). Section Two. This Ordinance, being for the award of a contract for the District's automobile fleet insurance and thus being necessary for the protection of the public welfare, constitutes an emergency within the meaning of the Plan, and this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted January 24, 1979. -2-
