AN ORDINANCE, amending Section Two of Ordinance No.
2948, adopted November 12, 1975, as amended by Ordinance No. 3137,
adopted September 12, 1976, by repealing Rules 11.4b and 11.4c of
the Civil Service Rules and Regulations of The Metropolitan St.
Louis Sewer District, and enacting new Rules in lieu thereof to be
known as Rules 11.4b and 11.4c.
WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District held a public hearing on
December 19, 1978, on the proposed revisions of the Civil Service
Rules and Regulations, and
WHEREAS, the Commission recommends the immediate
adoption of the revisions as hereinafter set out,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. Section Two of Ordinance No. 2948,
adopted November 12, 1975, as amended by Ordinance No. 3137,
adopted September 12, 1976, is hereby amended by repealing Rules
11.4b and 11.4c of the Civil Service Rules and Regulations of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, and enacting new Rules
carrying the same identification numbers, the new Rules to read as
follows:
11.4 RETIREMENT
a. Retirement Age
The normal retirement date for an employee is the first day of the
month coinciding with or next following his sixty-fifth
birthday. However, deferment of retirement beyond the
normal retirement date may be authorized as
specifically provided herein.
b. Deferment of Retirement
An employee may, upon written notification to both his appointing
authority and the Personnel Director, filed at lease
six months prior to his normal retirement date, defer
his retirement, consistent with: (c) "Compulsory
Retirement" below. An employee who requests deferment
of retirement (may) be required to successfully
complete a physical examination which shall be provided
at District expense. Deferment of retirement shall be
conditioned upon the employee's continued ability to
perform his duties efficiently and without undue hazard
to the employee, the District, or the public.
c. Compulsory Retirement
Beginning with calendar year (1979), no employee shall be eligible
for deferment of retirement after the first day of the
month coinciding with or next following his
(seventieth) birthday. The foregoing Resolution was adopted May 9, 1979.
