Bikeways Committee
April 19, 2011

-Jack provided a copy of the minutes from previous meeting and stated that he will e-mai
a copy to everyone. Upon review Jack requested concurrence to formally accept these
minutes as the formal record.
-Andy provided some information regarding attendance at the National Bike Week event
in Boston.
-There was a general discussion of what the committee should try to accomplish in both
the long & short term.
-Jack expressed a desire to provide some form of bike route map to local bike rental
shops this summer.It was agreed to "fast track" such for this riding season.
-Bob suggested that it may be possible to develop & publish a higher quality bike map for
Brewster by gaining financial support from local businesses, which would be displayed
on the map.
-Jack advised that the Historical Committee has raised some concerns over the placement
of proposed bike signs on Route 6A. It was agreed that the concerns should be formally
addressed by the Bikeways Committee.
Follow Up Actions:
-Bob will develop a Brewster map in GIS which indicates desirable bike routes &key
points of interest.
-Andy will explore potential sources of information that may be available from Mass.
Bike Group
-Jack will forward copies of minutes from previous meeting to all bike way committee
members, and upon concurrence he will provide a copy to the town office for official
record.
-Jack will schedule the next meeting when further information becomes available.
