AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TIFFIN,
IOWA, CHAPTER 99, TO INCLUDE AN EXCEPTION TO SEWER
USAGE CHARGES.
BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City.of Tiffin, Iowa:
Section I. Purpose: The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Section 99.06
of Chapter 99 of the Municipal Code of Tiffin, Iowa, by including an additional
exception to sewer usage charges.
Section II. Amendment. Section 99.06 of Chapter 99 is hereby amended as
follows:
CHAPTER 99
SEWER USER CHARGE SYSTEM
99.06. CHARGES BASED ON USAGE. Each user"shall pay for the services
provided by the'City based on said user's use of the treatment works as determined by
water meters acceptable to the City.
3. Exception. If a homeowner is using a single-purpose meter as
set forth in Section 91.10 of Chapter 91, and timely complies with the
requirements of Section 91.10 of Chapter 91, that homeowner shall be exempt
from sewer charges associated with that single-purpose meter. The water used
shall be'charged in accordance with Chapter 92.
Section III. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinance in•conflict with the
provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section IV. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this
ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not
affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof
not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section V. When Effective. This ordinance shall be in effect after its final
passage, approval, and posting as provided by law.
On the 26th day of February 2014, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, E
Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Ryan introduced Ordinance No. 2014-352, and moved

that it be given its first reading. The motion was seconded by Councilperson
Petersen.
Ayes: Kahler, Ryan; Petersen,.Bartels, Upton
Nays: none
Five members of the Council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Steve
Berner declared the motion carried, and Ordinance No. 2014-352, was read the first
time, discussed, and placed on record.
On the 12th day of March 2014, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin,
Iowa, Councilperson Petersen introduced Ordinance No. 2014-352, and moved that it
be given its second reading. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Bartels.
Ayes: Kahler, Ryan, Petersen, Bartels, Upton
Nays: None
Five members of the Council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Steve
Berner declared the motion carried, and Ordinance No. 2014-352, was read.:the
second time and discussed and placed on record.
On the 26th day of March 2014, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin,
Iowa, Councilperson Kahler introduced'Ordinance No. 2014-352, and moved that it
be given its third and last reading. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Ryan.
Ayes: Kahler, Ryan, Petersen, Bartels, Upton
Nays: None
Five members of the Council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Steve
Berner declared the motion:carried, and the ordinance was'passed and adopted.
Whereupon the Mayor declared that Ordinance No. 2014-352 be adopted and
signified his approval of same by fixing his signature thereto. Passed by the Council
on the 26th day of March 2014 and approved by the Mayor on the 31' day of March
2014.

Council on the 26th day of March 2014, and signed by the Mayor on the 31st day of
March 2014, and published on the 31st day of March 2012, by posting copies thereof
in three public places within the limits of the City of Tiffin, Iowa: That I posted
copies of Ordinance No. 2014-352 in the following places:
