HomeMy Public PortalAboutBikeways Committee -- 2011-07-19 Minutes Minutes of Brewster Bikeways Committee July 19, 2011 Present: Jack Clarke, Chair; Andi Genser; Bob Bersin; Clarence Scott -The group discussed ways that the town might calm traffic on 6A and the email from Chief Koch on that matter; clearly there are many competing priorities for the town -The key question was raised: What would the town like us to do? We discussed a strategy of involving different constituents and seeing what input and ideas they had. We also learned that Jim Foley is the liaison with the Town Selectmen. The group discussed our key goals and strategies/activities and came up with the attached draft for input and discussion. It was agreed that the committee would add to it and once we had a more complete draft, we would use it to talk to other groups and get their thinking and input. Once we had the information from the other groups, we would then present this to the Selectmen. -Jack agreed to invite Jim Foley and Sue Leven to the next meeting so that we could discuss our ideas and strategy with them. Next Steps: -Prepare draft of goals and proposed activities (AG) -Review and edit (Committee) -Invite Jim and Sue to next meeting (JC) -Meet with other key individuals for input (e.g. Chief Koch; Kyle Hinkle, etc) -Gather data re: bicyclists on 6A (perhaps with Americorps?
