AN ORDINANCE, making a supplemental appropriation of
Four Million Five Hundred Twelve Thousand Dollars ($4,512,000.00)
from the Operation, Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund
of Subdistrict No. 449 (Meramec River Basin - M.S.D. Southwest),
of which Four Hundred Fifty-one Thousand Two Hundred Dollars
($451,200.00) is to be used to pay the District's ten percent
(10%) share; a grant of Three Million Three Hundred Eighty-four
Thousand Dollars ($3,384,000.00) has been received from the
Environmental Protection Agency, and Six Hundred Seventy-six
Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($676,800.00) has been reserved by
the Clean Water Commission for the cost of continuing Step 1
engineering studies and sewer system evaluation surveys of the
Lower Meramec River Basin, (Engineering Contract E-295, Federal
Project C-290875), continuing the program previously funded
through Ordinance No. 2738, adopted January 29, 1975, Ordinance
No. 3024, adopted March 24, 1976, Ordinance No. 3128, adopted
September 8, 1976, and Ordinance No. 3459, adopted February 22,
1978.
WHEREAS, the District has received a seventy-five per-
cent (75%) grant from the Environmental Protection Agency of the
United States to pay seventy-five percent (75%) of the cost of
said continuing program, and
WHEREAS, a fifteen percent (15%) grant has been
reserved by the Clean Water Commission of the State of Missouri to
pay fifteen percent (15%) of the cost of said continuing program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Four Hundred Fifty-one
Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($451,200.00) is hereby appropriated
from the Operation, Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund
of Subdistrict No. 449 (Meramec River Basin - M.S.D. Southwest) to
pay ten percent (10%) of the cost of continuing Step 1 engineering
studies and sewer system evaluation surveys of the Lower Meramec
River Basin.
Section Two. The grant from the Environmental
Protection Agency of the United States amounts to Three Million
Three Hundred Eighty-four Thousand Dollars ($3,384,000.00), which
will be deposited in the Operation, Maintenance and Construction
Improvement Fund of Subdistrict No. 449 (Meramec River Basin -
M.S.D. Southwest), and is to pay seventy-five percent (75%) of the
cost of continuing Step 1 engineering studies and sewer system
evaluation surveys of the Lower Meramec River Basin, and said
amount is hereby appropriated to be used to make said payments
when due and payable under the terms of the contracts for said
program.
Section Three. The reserved grant from the Clean Water
Commission of the State of Missouri amounts to Six Hundred
Seventy-six Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($676,800.00), which
will be deposited in the Operation, Maintenance and Construction
Improvement Fund of Subdistrict No. 449 (Meramec River Basin -
M.S.D. Southwest), and is to pay fifteen percent (15%) of the cost
of continuing Step 1 engineering studies and sewer system
evaluation surveys of the Lower Meramec River Basin, and said
amount is hereby appropriated to bc used to make said payments
when due and payable under the terms of the contracts for said
program.
Section Four. This ordinance, being an appropriation
ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted March 19, 1980.
