AN ORDINANCE, appropriating One Million One Hundred
Twenty-six Thousand Dollars ($1,126,000.00) from the Operation,
Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund of Subdistrict No.
449 (Meramec River Basin - M.S.D. Southwest), of which One Hundred
Twelve Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($112,600.00) is to be used to
pay the District's ten percent (10%) share; a grant of Eight
Hundred Forty-four Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($844,500.00) has
been received from the Environmental Protection Agency, and One
Hundred Sixty-eight Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars ($168,900.00)
has been reserved by the Clean Water Commission for the first
phase of Step 2 design work for interim treatment plants, the
upgrading of pump stations, and a limited amount of trunk sewers
required to consolidate scattered facilities in the Lower Meramec
River Basin, (Engineering Contract E-295, Federal Project
C-290875-02).
WHEREAS, the District has received a seventy-five
percent (75%) grant from the Environmental Protection Agency of
the United States to pay seventy-five percent (75%) of the cost of
said design work, and
WHEREAS, a fifteen percent (15%) grant has been
reserved
by the Clean Water Commission of the State of Missouri to pay
fifteen percent (15%) of the cost of said design work,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:

Section One. The sum of One Hundred Twelve Thousand
Six Hundred Dollars ($112,600.00) is hereby appropriated from the
Operation, Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund of
Subdistrict No. 449 (Meramec River Basin - M.S.D. Southwest) to
pay ten percent (10%) of the cost of the first phase of Step 2
design work for interim treatment plants, the upgrading of pump
stations, and a limited amount of trunk sewers required to
consolidate scattered facilities in the Lower Meramec River Basin.
Section Two. The grant from the Environmental
Protection Agency of the United States amounts to Eight Hundred
Forty-four Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($844,500.00), which will
be deposited in the Operation, Maintenance and Construction
Improvement Fund of Subdistrict No. 449 (Meramec River Basin -
M.S.D. Southwest), and is to pay seventy-five percent (75%) of the
cost of the first phase of Step 2 design work for interim
treatment plants, the upgrading of pump stations, and a limited
amount of trunk sewers required to consolidate scattered
facilities in the Lower Meramec River Basin, and said amount is
hereby appropriated to be used to make said payments when due and
payable under the terms of the contracts for said design work.
Section Three. The reserved grant from the Clean Water
Commission of the State of Missouri amounts to One Hundred Sixty-
eight Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars ($168,900.00), which will be
deposited in the Operation, Maintenance and Construction
Improvement Fund of Subdistrict No. 449 (Meramec River Basin -

M.S.D. Southwest), and is to pay fifteen percent (15%) of the cost
of the first phase of Step 2 design work for interim treatment
plants, the upgrading of pump stations, and a limited amount of
trunk sewers required to consolidate scattered facilities in the
Lower Meramec River Basin, and said amount is hereby appropriated
to be used to make said payments when due and payable under the
terms of the contracts for said design work.
Section Four. This ordinance, being an appropriation
ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
