AN ORDINANCE, appropriating One Hundred Thousand
Dollars ($100,000.00) from the General Fund of the District of
which Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) is to be used to pay the
District's ten percent (10%) share; a grant of Seventy-five
Thousand Dollars ($75,000.00) has been received from the
Environmental Protection Agency, and Fifteen Thousand Dollars
($15,000.00) has been reserved by the Clean Water Commission, for
the District's participation in Contract E-329 with Mo-Kan/St.
Louis Construction Contractors Assistance Center whereby the
District will provide technical assistance to minority
Architect/Engineering firms and minority construction contractors
and suppliers to enable them to perform competitively in the
Environmental Protection Agency construction grants program on
treatment works projects in the St. Louis Metropolitan area of
Missouri. (Federal Project C-290640-03).
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 4151, adopted August 27, 1980,
authorized the District's participation in said Contract, and
WHEREAS, the District has received a seventy-five
percent (75%) grant from the Environmental Protection Agency of
the United
States to pay seventy-five percent (75%) of the cost of said
contract, and
WHEREAS, a fifteen percent (15%) grant has been
reserved by the Clean Water Commission of the State of Missouri to
pay fifteen percent (15%) of the cost of said Contract,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Ten Thousand Dollars
($10,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the General Fund of the
District to pay ten percent (10%) of the cost of the District's
participation in Contract E-329 with Mo-Kan/St. Louis Construction
Contractors Assistance Center whereby the District will provide
technical assistance to minority Architect/Engineering firms and
minority construction contractors and suppliers to enable them to
perform competitively in the Environmental Protection Agency
construction grants program on treatment works projects in the St.
Louis Metropolitan area of Missouri.
Section Two. The grant from the Environmental
Protection Agency of the United States amounts to Seventy-five
Thousand Dollars ($75,000.00), which will be deposited in the
General Fund of the District, and is to pay seventy-five percent
(75%) of the cost of the District's participation in Contract
E-329 with Mo-Kan/St. Louis Construction Contractors Assistance
Center whereby the District will provide technical assistance to
minority Architect/Engineering firms and minority construction
contractors and suppliers to enable them to perform competitively
in the Environmental Protection Agency construction grants program
on treatment works projects in the St. Louis Metropolitan area of
Missouri, and said amount is hereby appropriated to be used to
make payments when due and payable under the terms of said
Contract.
Section Three. The reserved grant from the Clean Water
Commission of the State of Missouri amounts to Fifteen Thousand
Dollars ($15,000.00), which will be deposited in the General Fund
of the District, and is to pay fifteen percent (15%) of the cost
of the District's participation in Contract E-329 with Mo-Kan/St.
Louis Construction Contractors Assistance Center whereby the
District will provide technical assistance to minority
Architect/Engineering firms and minority construction contractors
and suppliers to enable them to perform competitively in the
Environmental Protection Agency construction grants program on
treatment works projects in the St. Louis Metropolitan area of
Missouri, and said amount is hereby appropriated to be used to
make payments when due and payable under the terms of said
Contract.
Section Four. This ordinance, being an appropriation
ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
