Committee on Public Works, Meeting November 12, 2013
Report: November 12, 2013
The Committee met Tuesday November 12 at 6:15 pm in the Council Office. Present were:
Cecilia Lenk, Chair; Stephen Corbett, Vice-chair; and Vincent Piccirilli, Secretary.
Maria Rose was interviewed for re-appointment to the Conservation Commission. Ms. Rose has
been an appointed member since 2008, and works in the Newton Engineering Department where
she handles the stormwater system. She discussed the highlights of what she has worked on
including the relocation of the recycling center, the cleanup of the GSA site, and the creation and
stewardship of the Whitney Hill Park.
The Committee voted unanimously to recommend that the Town Council confirm Ms. Rose for a
term to expire February 15, 2015.
The meeting adjourned at 6:30 pm.
