AN ORDINANCE, authorizing the Executive Director and
Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the
City of Arnold, Missouri, whereby the District will accept and
treat sewage generated within the sewer system boundaries of said
City as conveyed to the District's Meramec Treatment Plant by said
City.
WHEREAS, the Plan of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District empowers the District to contract with municipalities,
districts, other public agencies, individuals, or private corpo-
rations, or any of them whether within or without the District,
for the construction. use, or maintenance of common or joint
sewers, drains, outlets, or disposal plants, or for the perfor-
mance of any service required by the District; and for the con-
nection with and use of the facilities of the District, and
WHEREAS, the District, pursuant to its authorities and
powers, is the lead applicant for Federal and State water
pollution control grant assistance in the Lower Meramec River
Basin comprising nine (9) major watersheds in St. Louis County,
Missouri and four (4) major watersheds in Jefferson County,
Missouri and concomitantly therewith, has developed a
regional sewerage system facility plan for the entire Lower
Meramec River Basin watershed; and has agreed to perform the
aforesaid sewage treatment services for said City of Arnold,
Missouri.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer are hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St.
Louis Sewer District to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement
with the City of Arnold, Missouri, whereby the District will
accept and treat sewage generated within the sewer system
boundaries of said City as conveyed to the District's Meramec
Treatment Plant by said City.
Section Two. The Intergovernmental Agreement
authorized in Section One of this ordinance shall be comprised of
such terms and conditions as are approved by the Assistant
Executive Director and General Counsel of the District.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted March 3, 1982.
