AN ORDINANCE, appropriating One Million Eight Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($1,800,000.00) from the Subdistrict Planning
Fund for the cost of continuing Step 2 engineering designs of
trunk sewers and interim treatment facilities in the Lower Meramec
River Basin - Grand Glaize, Fishpot, and Kiefer Creek Watersheds.
(Part of Federal Project No. C-290875-02).
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the completion of the Step
2 engineering design of trunk sewers and interim treatment
facilities in the Lower Meramec River Basin - Grand Glaize,
Fishpot, and Kiefer Creek Watersheds (Part of Federal Project No.
C-290875-02) to provide additional engineering services, including
revisions of the design scope of work relating to interceptor
sewer routes and interim sewage treatment needs, and also
expansion of the basic scope to provide for the design of
additional pump stations, force mains, interceptor sewers, and
interim sewage treatment facilities, to expedite the total
watershed program, and
WHEREAS, under the 1981 Amendments to the Clean Water
Act funding for Step 1 and Step 2 grants must be advanced by the
Grantee, and allowance will be made for the Federal share and
State share of advanced funds when the Grantee receives the Step 3
Construction Grant, and
WHEREAS, when this allowance is made with the Step 3
Grant, said funds shall be repaid to the Subdistrict Planning
Fund, and
WHEREAS, the District has received a confirmation from
the Missouri Department of Natural Resources of the eligibility of
at least Five Hundred and Seventeen Thousand Dollars ($517,000.00)
of these costs, with an additional amount of approximately Three
Hundred Thousand Dollars ($300,000.00) of these costs currently
being negotiated under direct grant procedures, with the remaining
balance being assured under the advancement procedures,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of One Million Eight Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($1,800,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the
Subdistrict Planning Fund for the cost of continuing Step 2
engineering designs of trunk sewers and interim treatment
facilities in the Lower Meramec River - Grand Glaize, Fishpot, and
Kiefer Creek Watersheds. (Part of Federal Project No. C-290875-
02).
Section Two. This ordinance, being an appropriation
ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted December 22, 1982.
