K.Livingston,owners of 600 E. High Street The Electrical Board of Examiners and Review met November 1,2017,in the Small Conference Room of the John G. Christy Municipal Building.The meeting was called to order by Bill Luebbert at 4:05 p.m. A quorum was present. Approval of Minutes from the September 6,2017 Meeting A motion was made by Ray Fink and seconded by Dave Steinman to approve the minutes of the September 6,2017 meeting.Motion passed by show of hands. Review License Applications • Amotionwas made byJim Gooch and seconded byChris Bruemmer to approve Paul Chandler to receive his Master License.Motion passed by show of hands. • A motion was made by Ray Finkand seconded by Dave Steinman to approve Stephen McFallto receive his Master License.Motion passed by show of hands. Old Business None. New Business a.Elect Chair and Other Officers as Needed No discussion at this point,so no action was taken. b.Workers Compensation and Liability Insurance Requirements T.K. Livingston,owner of 600 E. High Street,asked to address the Board about Austin Tipton's (ATEPHAC) work deficiencies at that job site. Mr. Livingston had hired Mr.Tipton to bring the existing unit into compliance to be used as a laundromat.Mr. Livingston submitted a list of code violations and electrical corrections that were completed by Gooch Electric LLC after he had asked Mr.Tipton to leave the job site.Mr.Livingston asked the Board if the City required liability insurance for electrical contractors. After discussion among the Board members,Dave Steinman moved and Ray Fink seconded to require a yet to be determined amount of liability insurance and workers compensation insurance when a contractor is obtaining an electrical contractor's license or renewal.Motion passed by show of hands. Minutes of the Board of Electrical Examiners and Review pg. 2 November 1, 2017 Ray Fink moved and Jim Gooch seconded to investigate Austin Tipton's work in regard to 600 E. High Street, as to the level of competency and supervision of apprentices and quality of work according to the Code of the City of Jefferson. Motion passed by show of hands. c. Verify Contact Information for Active Journeyman and Master License Holders There was discussion of what the requirements should be in the future for active Journeyman and Masters for renewing their license, which in turn will provide an accurate list of licensed Journeyman and Masters.
